You’re a trucker mate, get over it. You should have kit with you to get you through the week with no facilities on offer. The cost of parking is down to your firm to pass on to the customer.
If the company want you to park on motorway service areas, they have the responsibility of paying for it, not the driver.
Most are ■■■■ holes, i wouldnt drink there vastly overpriced ■■■■ they call tea, and the washing facilities arnt fit for a pig, if by chance i ever had to overnight in one it would be call at a supermarket first or make sure you have food stored in the truck for the times your caught out.

you have more of chance knitting fog if you think msa will drop there prices they will tell you it is private land and if you want to use it you pay if not layby or ind est
Yeah thanks for your input from a fellow professional driver and we wonder why this country is in the state it’s in wasn’t actually asking for the pricing to be dropped was asking for them to investigate and look into the conditions and facilities that are on offer at these motorway services!!! so that we are not driven in to having to use lay-bys or off street parking…
like I said they lay on the basics you have to use them or not use them they really couldn’t careless as long as they get your money, they have had reports done on them, press have looked into them and still no change like I say more chance of knitting fog than them doing anything for the driver

You just can’t beat how British lorry drivers stick together to get things!
LOL - so it seems - in general the image that is currently on the road is looking pretty ugly, such as dirty vehicles/livery and, in some cases, barely roadworthy, a couldn’t care less attitude from drivers and haulier companies with no visible pride in the industry, so why should we expect service stations to provide our so called ‘profession’ with a good standard of facilities.

If the text in the OP is what you sent, do you not think that they may take it more seriously if the facts were correct??
Guys the huge majority of the washed and unwashed out there don’t care if you have to pay to park, they have zero interest in your wellbeing at all . The only thing they are concerned about is you don’t park near their house. Its not an issue that is ever going to make main stream TV because quite simply there isn’t the public interest in it.
There are millions of people that have issues they think are important, that the majority of society do not give a monkeys about… and parking your truck is one of them (as long as its not outside their house)
When I was tramping for RB I tried to avoid the MSAs where i could, but youre always going to get that odd time where you have to due to driving hours etc

Yep.
Also, I really don’t see what the solution is.
MSA’s are pretty much full most nights anyway so it’s not as if making them cheaper will solve many peoples parking diffculties. Councils could build truck parks but then they’d just get littered/■■■■■■ on, attract crime and get filled with ■■■■■ - general policing/maintenance nightmare.
I just think drivers in this country and inflicted the problem on themselves. Transport cafe’s etc. have all slowly disapeared because of the stay-in-cab culture and lack of ability for many drivers to respect & look after facilities provided. People go on about the great free parking abroad but forget that a) less truck density, so less demand on each service area = bags of parking space, b) facilities tend not to get trashed.
I completely agree with you, I can never understand anyone who trashes the facilitys . I can never remember thinking ■■■■ it I’m gonna rip the sink off the wall and smash the toilet up but there must be a few amongst us that have that desire.

I know a few people like that, they get pleasure in causing misery to others because their own lives are so miserable.
They act like they hate the World, but really they hate themself the most.
same here cant understand why they have to trash everything
used to run out heysham docks years ago before it was all done up and they put a portable toilet block in there for the drivers with a couple of showers first few weeks idiots had robbed the shower heads they got replaced but got robbed again and within a couple of months they were knackered and hanging off the wall the toilets where the same and eventually got closed
it was only drivers using them so you couldnt blame anyone else other than drivers
