Getting an infringement from your company is one thing i have had these from sainsbury DHL etc, but dose anyone know if vosa or the coppers can do you for speeding if they check your digi card? has anyone ever been done for it resulting in points on licence?
Probably that bloke from Spain has but in VOSA sanctions there are no points applicable for limiter or overspeed offences mentioned.
yer I learn’t that the hard way after the machine spat my card out half way down the M62 with a tamper warning light flashing, I just think these machines are programmed to do stupid things to first time users as I had done everything by the text book apart from waiting for that little box thing to appear.
Great reading, put my mind at rest anyway with the overspoeed issue. I keep it at 60 when going down hill, yet i have other Zooooom past me, least im still “legal” hehe
Anyway, ebabes, i had something like that a couple of years ago. Was plodding along up the M1 minding my own business when i hear a motor buzzing about my head, and a warming alarm on the computer.
Looked up and it spat my card out whilst driving, and the computer warning was driving without card! Just pushed it back in, and all worked no problem, really didnt understyand it. The one and only problem with that machine ever had! - Must have been having a random hissy fit, at least they dont get the ‘blue screen of death’ like windows!
My mate was told on a driver cpc course that you can be prosecuted for overspeeds and also if you dont carry your digi card at all times. I mean all times like down the pub on your days off etc

Yeah, there is a lot of crap spouted on CPC courses. The prosecuted for overspeeds is a popular one that many trainers seem to be fond of, I think they are struggling to fill seven hours with useful stuff so make up the time with crap. Apparently I am doing my first seven hour session shortly, I can’t wait and I suspect I may be ejected before the seven hours is up as I won’t be hearing any of the BS stuff and keeping my mouth shut.

merc0447:
What if you don’t press ok and let it flash the whole day, the when you eject press ok. Does this stop it from going on the card or is this another RDC tale ive been told
that also applies when the digi tacho flashes “break” if you dont press o.k you can carry on and it wont record you havent had a break, we must of delivered to the same RDC merc0447
But your card doesn’t record that as an infringement, that flash is your driver guard kicking in, when your card is downloaded the software that reads the time/break data detects the infringement that had occurred.
gm:
Over speeds are set at one minute not 30 seconds
cheers

Wrong mate …it must depend on how the tacho has been setup …ive driven Scanias that are set to 1 minute … driven Volvo’s that flash overspeed as soon as the needle starts to creep past the limiter
