Wow! you certainly had a baptism of fire there. I’m glad for your sake that you stuck with it. The early months in any job are always the telling ones especially truck driving jobs, and in particular your job. I can quite remember my early months of class1 work and the stupid mistakes and suchlike, sometimes I wondered if I’d selected the right second career after all. but, like you I stuck with it and am eternally glad that I did. Anyway, I think a big hand all round is called for in your case mate, WELL DONE!!!

Well done C-Kay! I remember you starting on that and thinking you had a STEEP learning curve in front of you. Little knocks and bumps are to be expected while you’re learning. The thing that comes through for me is you’re obviously enjoying it and I enjoyed the read, you write well and make it interesting. FWIW I think your job is one of the more interesting jobs in transport so don’t be in any rush to change!

I dont know how much longer i’ll be there though, if the rumours are to be believed then Arla’s are opening their new billion litre a day dairy in Aylesbury and Hatfield Peveral will be closed down. Of coure this is a year or 2 away, but chances are i’ll either be shipped to another side that Turners do, Felixstowe seems to be the closest so i could be a box jockey, or made redundant.
For now i’ll enjoy it while it lasts
