On a farm on the right hand side as you go west across the A66, will keep an eye out for it when I go to Scotlandif I can see it up there. Ive seen this word for ages, I honestly didn’t think anyone else was noticing it. Glad its not just me then.
One for the European drivers from 15-20 yrs ago, what was it that was written (if I remember) a lot in Belgium? I think it turned out it was the name of a band in the end.
I wondered if the person spraying these tags was a driver as they are literally country wide!. Seen them on the A19 - A1 - A66 - M62 - M25 - M74.
If you notice as well, the “SICA” tag is often accompanied with another one called “OSK” and has shelly sprayed too.
The one on the 74, I hadn’t been up there a while but saw it the Monday following a music event at Glasgow, maybe someone who travels to music events ? Definitely someone doing it on their travels anyway and by the same person / gang rather than a country wide trend
According to the Urban dictionary this is what SICA means:
sica
A derogatory word used to describe Asians who cannot speak English properly. Originated in Las Vegas, NV when all the (racial slur for Asians) in the sportsbooks could not pronounce the number 6, instead calling it “sic”
I live in Middlesbrough and SICA/OSK is in several places round here. I thought it was just a local tag but I’ve started a new job driving all over the place and noticed the one on the m74 near Lesmahagow last week and did a search to find out more. There’s another one I’ve just spotted on a blue container on the left hand side of the m74 southbound just after you get into Dumfries and Galloway.
If you do an image search for sica graffiti the guy has definitely been around a while, it’s literally nationwide on structures, buildings and trains.
There’s 2 Sica ‘tags’ on the old abandoned little chef when you join the A64 Eastbound from the A1. One looks like a Costa logo and one like a Subway logo both of which have recently opened up in Tadcaster down the road. Whoever it is gets around a fair bit!
Years ago when I was driving long distance there used to be a bridge somewhere up North East that had “Its grim up north” painted on it always raised a smile.
I’ve seen it at on a farm building at Wensleydale on the A684, I’ve seen it on a train under the Middlesbrough flyover on the A19, I’ve seen it in Scotland as well but it’s mainly found on the A19, the A1 and the A66 on every other bridge.
This SICA person doesn’t half get around, guess it could be a girl called Jessica, never thought of that before.
I have noticed it appearing next to the same tag time after time as well.

Recently a character called Helch has been tagging lots of the motorway bridges around the western part of the M25 - first he overwrote “Give Peas a Chance” on Buckinghamshire, and since then his tags have shown up on bridges over the M25 and M3 in Surrey. Is this one guy or a group of them?
