Are there any Gill offsprings in the South East Asia area Harry ?
Cheers Dave.

No way, Harry would rather have a Glenfiddich than play around, Mind having said this , There may have been no Glenfiddich on hand at that time, So perhaps he may have been led astray be the none Malt drinkers, Oh Dear, I do hope Im right, Regards Larry.

hiya,
Larry, in those days I could barely afford to buy beer, as for a drop of malt that was
way out of my league come to think of it those times are fast returning it now takes
nearly a re-mortgage to go out and buy the stuff, might have to return to work.
thanks harry, long retired.

No no Harry …the WIFE might have to return to work. Let’s have it right.
As for funerals, since our daughter died 3 years ago I try to avoid going, the emotion is too much for me. It’s not disrespect for friends and old mates, it just gets too much and I don’t think Mrs GOM could stand it, I struggle, but my wife couldn’t cope.

Here’s a Foden for you fella’s to fight over

Hiya,
Yes GOM, I’ve just informed the Missus that should she return to work I’ll buy her first
pair of workboots, Oh’ the funeral thingy I’ve made my last request and hope they
can get it right, collect me, cardboard box me up miss out the sky pilot miss out the
church bit and the guy at the front saying what a good guy you are the bleedin’ fellah
has never ever met you until now and the embalming joke a money making racket if
ever there was one, drawing off good preservative to replace with cheap preservative
just bung me in the ā€œcollection vanā€ in the side door of the chrem and into the flames
when I’m ā€œcookedā€ sprinkle the bits that left on the back of an empty trailer so’s I just
might blow off into a VOSA mans eyes so he’ll have to leave the lads alone for a while.

I remember them having either an Ergo cabbed Leyland or an AEC ack in about 1966 Larry, it had a fantastic sound to it, you could hear it coming for miles. I was working at Whitney Toll Bridge at the time and used to listen to this lorry approaching.

We had a humorist funeral for our Claire, she was 43 when she died suddenly. It worked well. She’d said in the past when we were at funerals ā€œnone of this for me dad, if anything ever happens to me just send me on my way and get down to the pub and have a pint of Guinness with meā€. We did just that.
We never expected IT to happen, but it did and after the humorist job both the wife and myself have ā€œleft instructionsā€

Same for me, I’m agnostic, so don’t need any clergy talking and hymn singing about me. Ghost Riders in the Sky, Ring of Fire, and This will be the last time, to play me out. That will do.
Cheers Dave.
