Old Truck Accident Pics

there is an interesting story to the longson crash . it was two of the regular night men going hell for leather back to the yard ( job and knock ) they came through the lights neck and neck, one each side of the bollards and the inside one was going too fast to make the bend . i got the truth from another night man , but i don,t know what story they gave to the police and the insurance .

whiplash:

Only a small one,but hey they all count.Heading into Danzas Stuttgart,Frachtstrasse.Herman the German trying to be a leetle bit too clever.Ja?

I had a similar accident with a Deux Chevaux on the Boulevard Périphérique when it was cobbles. Stop start traffic & I had a RHD Swiss reg Berna. The DC tried to cut in but I couldn’t see him & my front wheel studs chewed up his panels… but he didn’t even get outa the car to complain - I think it was because the inside vehicle has right of way?

Used to see this quite a bit in Italy. Usually an overloaded trailer wagging the dog!

Dunno who but Todd will remember!

Not necessarily , I drove an identical one ti Italy until I discovered they had no spring brakes. When the air runs out a buzzer sounds and a little red lever slowly rises on the dashboard . When it’s upright you have no air and away you go. The first thing to go out of control is the trailer. I discovered it on a downward slope going to Italy ,had to let it run to get the air up. Did the trip and jacked in. …and lived happily ever after!

Harry those little red levers usually had STOP either written on in white or the STOP was cut out but nobody could ever tell me how to stop when they came up   I found a little prayer and just try to miss anything in the way worked for me

The handbrake was a transmission brake and only works when the truck is stationary .

I discovered the brake thing reversing onto the boat at western dock. The truck rolled down the ramp and only the A frame on the trailer saved me going in the briney.

You just wouldn’t would you!

What is it about the Chinese that makes them use wrecks like that? There are more pictures scattered around the internet, of drivers with motorcycle goggles, capes and gloves etc, driving lorries with bits of the cabs missing. Surely they cannot be that short of vehicles?

I like this one:

Greetings,All.

They are taking them home for repair.

That’s as good an explanation as any. Maybe China is a potential export market for old recovery vehicles?

You bringie backie me fixie. Eddie.
