John.

G’day,
There are some great old pics on here. I like the old black and white body builders photos where it’s hard to tell which type of waggon is under the pannels.
I’ve found a few more. I did my time as a fitter on some of Pickfords’ vans from Taunton and Exeter branches. Mostly FL6 Volvo’s some tilt cab, where I had to stand up the front with a ten foot piece of four by two and push up the bloody heavy luton floor while another bloke jacked up the cab The others were integral cabbed models.
These had a hatch in the front of the body where the fuel filters and the back of the motor could be got at. For any hard to get at engine work the seats, rubber engine cover and fiberglass dog kennel/engine cover had to be all stripped out. There were also some Ford Cargos, but sadly I don’t have any pics.

This old girl had come in for some repairs one day,it wasn’t one of our regulars,I remember the cab being huge inside. It looks the same as the TL in the black and white pic above.

This old banger had been bought by ■■■■■■ and had been converted inside.

Stanfield:

Does anyone know what model this was ? I can’t remember them being that common, but one firm used one on a tipper chassis. ( Heyworth’s … John.)

Here’s another one to add to the collection.
