R. Durham, Billingham
Prestons of Potto
Youngs of Stokesley
A.V. Dawson
Stockton Haulage
Econofreight
R. Rankin
Roseberry Haulage, Stokesley⌠Volvos Yellow cabs with Grey Chassiscar transporters apart from my old all black Mack with 3 axle stepframe Tilt used to transport Nissan Forklifts.
Terry Crowthers Tipper fleet from Middesboro, canât remember the company name, used to run out of Boulby Potash Mine
K.W. Deveraux Removals
Stillers

I remember Bobby Durhams from Billingham, Cowpen Bewley Ind. Est. used to run ERFs red and yellow iirc. Loaded containers there in the 80s for Felixstowe and they wouldnât let you in with passengers in the cab, right picky b*ggers. Had to tell my young un to hide on the bed and keep out of sight. Stockton Haulage used to run smart green and silver Mercs from Middlesbroâ docks near where the football ground is now, seemed to do a lot up to Stranraer. Always remember them running about with empty flats 2 or 3 high.

Hi bri⌠Stockton haulage might have had some decent units but boy it was a different story for the trailers. I m sure if it wasn
t for them being chained to a load of steel beams some of them would have given up the ghost. I worked for aone and Slaters out of Thornaby depot for a few years till they both folded.
any drivers from wheatley hill,my old mam came from this village

hiya,
Hello there Greek, what happened with Collinsons??, one minute they was there with a regular crew who seemed to be âstayersâ, and next minute they had gone, who did they work for??, they always seemed busy saw them about regularly but never got parked up with any of them they musânt have used Normans their tackle was always tidy and what an unusual depot they had was it an old church?? sorry about being a nosey old git but just interested, did make enquiries about a start there with a pal of mine from Chopwell his reply was i think youâll have to wait till someone croaks, was driving an f86 for Youngy at Leadgate at the time but didânt like tippers and local work this would have been the early 70s, moved on to Glennyâs didânt like that he kept slipping me on the cars finished up at Cooky/BRS best job ever but that closed end of my journey work days finished up driving a 4 wheeled tipper for the local water company on local sweeping up jobs, happy days.

I remember the Waughâs Mandator, not sure if it was that one but when I worked for the AEC dealer Hodgsons I built up an engine of thereâs, fitted it, tested it and off it went only for it to return a couple of days later with the rockers almost seized up. Couldnât understand it so a strip down was called for and the bush in the rocker housing had turned, there was a small oil jet that screwed into the hole in the bush to allow the rockers to be lubed and seeing as the bush had turned nothing got to the rockers. After a good bollicking the top end was put right and off it went again, I kept my fingers crossed for a few days but it never came back, phew. By all accounts Mr Waugh wasnât too pleased about it though and I was a lot less complacent after that, probably had girls on my mind in them days though! The load looks to be the same as we used to run to various Power Stations when at Van Heeâs from Reyrolle, Hebburn. They later boxed them up and I loved going into load, the lads in the shop were brilliant and made you feel at home with tea and biscuits while they loaded, great lads and memories. Franky.
hi lads, tynexdaz said his dad worked for powellâs jam, here is one of their Albionâs, its owned by jimmy Wilkinson and is in pristine condition. bumper
