The coaches look to be Northern General AEC - Beadle rebuilds circa 1953-4 from parts taken from 1934-5 AEC Regal chassis, 10 were actually rebuilt.Wakefields also had some but they were painted cream with red relief.

Wallsend 1955 not sure what the occasion was?
Wonder if it had anything to do with Newcastle United’s third win of the FA Cup in the early 50’s, which 1955 was one of those years in fact the third. Franky.
Hi Larry, how did you find those state of the art large headlights? the ones I had on two Foden S80 & S83 were hopeless especially in dreich wet or foggy weather, I remember coming through York one November evening at rush hour a miracle I did not knock someone of a bike.
Cheers, Leyland 600.
Hi Leyland, I didnt rate them at all, I thought when I had them on full beam they were kind of halve decent But when I dipped them I thought they had gone out, To be honest I never liked these S80s, I thought the cabs were a waste of space, I ran mine for 6 months & Gave it up, I liked Fodens but I never bought any more after that, Keep safe, Regards Larry.
This S 36 Foden was one off my best Motors, Leyland 680 PP Engine with a 12 speed Foden gear box, It earned a few bob for me, Sadley I replaced it with the S 80 model , Regards Larry.

Hiya
Love the livery on the ERF Larry I know I’ve said it before but the
red and green don’t half go well together and nicely sign written.
I agree entirely Larry the S80 7 83 were certainly not good looking motors with that large numb cab, however I stuck by Fodens due to the excellent service given by their service depot at Carleton, Carlisle. My two S80/3 both had Gardner 180 engines.

Don’t know if this has been on before but here’s a Van Hee Transcon for Frankydobo.Picture from NA3T website.

Cheers jshepguis, I have got the photo among the others I have collected, this was taken about a year before I started at Van Hee, I think though Stan Black was the driver then, I know Morris Potts got it later and ran it for quite a few years until the Transcons went, the one I had WOK 158T was one of the last to be parked up after it had a piston pick up coming out of Team Valley fully loaded from Armstrong Cork. By this period it was policy not to spend any money on the Fords as the fleet was changing to Scania. I was gutted though as there wasn’t another spare unit for me to use so I was on holiday relief and jump in any motor bod for a little while until two new ERF four wheelers turned up and I got one of those which was one of the two worst motors I have ever driven and both from new, the other being an FL7 at Fergies, isn’t always a good thing to have a new motor! Franky.
Hi Franky, Can you remember Ray Thompson, Ted Cassidey,Mac Milburn, Maurice Newman,Who worked at Van Hees, & Not to forget Whoosh, (Eric Logan), Ray Thompson was one of my long gone school mates, Regards Larry.
Yes I knew them well Larry, Ray also worked for a time with my Father at Steenbergs as did Joe Pepper. I got on really well with Maurice Newman he lived in Washington too, a real Gent. A good set of lads and good grafters, shame the years have depleted the numbers. Take care and be safe Larry and I’ll see you at the next do which hopefully won’t be long. Franky.
