Hi night shift bri what good photos ,they bring back many memories as we used White Mare Pool Cafe a lot as the food was good ,the photo of Noble and Lund also did the same we use to load scrap metal mainly on Saturday morning for D Sept Bowran who where the biggest in the area at that time, must have a look on that webpage Regards crowbar

HI Just had another look at the second photo, and the high load looks like one of Crow’s Transport Commer LVK 972 Regards crowbar

More like 28 MPH Larry . Ray Morton was a driver there also and little Frankie Hilton the fitter in the garage.

Associated Lead-- parked at Throckley.Hi Forster was that beside the brick yard off ponteland rd ? I knew a bill bates & Colin Henderson who drove for them and lived in Throckley

Hi,Davie, Yes that is beside the brickyard.It was a popular spot for parking. The only driver I knew of who worked for Associated Lead and lived in Throckley (well, nearer to Heddon was Paddy Howland)

lawrence was that the seddon in blue livery if it is i had a mishap with a telegraph pole on the way to hepworth pipes in coalville it was bent a bit but still loaded for home me and fred had words so i left the company but still good drinking palls regards jimmy

that was my dads first lorry with twin bunks he did not know where to put his gear their was that much space in it , he got it new in 1978, after the 110 he had with fold down bed.
