hi larry just had this photo emailed to me the guy is asking for information on this company, i think they where from sunderland or that area, but got took  over by brs, do you know anything about them, bumper

Hi Bumper, I wonder who built the cab on this motor its not the best looking wagon of its era but has a quaint appeal all the same. The suicide doors and front step were a bit before their time. Obviously Sunderland registered.
Cheers . Leyland 600

This very tidy motor from Northumberland had been for MOT at Carlisle, (no tests available at Sandy Lane) :open_mouth: :open_mouth: I took the shot at the truckstop. The talk is Sandy Lane will be closed by Christmas. Regards Kev.0

Hi Jimmy, that pic looks like it was taken in Low row, Sunderland opposite the Theatre Garage where the public weighbridge used to be. Must have been fun to drive with one wiper, one mirror and a windscreen like a letterbox.

Just had a quick shufty on the net and Hepplewhite & Shaw were based in Low Row/ Looks like they were a pre-war outfit that were nationalised after the war.

Hi Bumper I will have a look in my files & find some info on HWS, Regards Larry.

I worked with Harry Tennick at Dents, in the workshops. His uncle Warwick Barron was a owner driver of a six wheel tipper. Harry left Dents and went as a self employed fitter at his garage at the top of Spennymoor. They moved to Toft Hill when they got bigger and I think Harry was a partner. When Warwick packed in Harry took over and the name was changed to Tennick’s
