Hi John
Yes she was new in 1976?, from Lancashire Trucks, liverpool, it was a cancelled order from Pearsons who ran a fleet of day cab 88 units, driver was Tommy Wilson, until she threw a rod out on the M6 in @ 1985, we then cut her up!!! aghhhhh
Seats were used in the F86 eight legger, most of the good bits stripped and the gearbox and axle went for export. She was a 290/16 speed, and had clocked up @ 800k

Hello all on this site Can somebody tell me who were Springfield haulage ; would see them in the westmids on steel usually F10s which had loaded at Shotton. cheers kk
Hi boys
kk, Springfield haulage was run by run by Diesel ■■■■ and his son Sorry for the life of me I cannot remember there names. ■■■■ started with a bull nosed Merc. They came from just north of Broxton roundabout on the A41 turn right down the short cut towards the top of Broxton bank, and they lived in the bungalow on the right. I haven’t seen anything of them for 20 years, No sign of any trucks at the bungalow for years.I know why they called him Diesel ■■■■ but don’t think I can say on here, many old Shotton lads will know
Hi boys
Thanks Chepstow Chap that was the one that I was talking about, I hope it was the one kk asked about. BTW I don’t suppose you have one of the bullnosed Merc?

hiya,
Not a Flintshire company but a firm that did all their work out of the area, Deans of Darwen, daily into Courtaulds running empty from Darwen the work was arranged via Nuttalls the four and six wheelers did their deliveries round the Lancashire area they had one artic a new Atkinson which i drove and loaded for anywhere very tidy well maintained fleet, the boss was a nice fellow to work for and paid the rate. Often wondered what happened to them,i left the area in 1972.

Can any one remember G B P Transport ? Wernt they Shotton based ? I can recall a Leyland marathon in white livery and a blue band regards kk
Yes mate, Paul Perks and his son owned the company, also had a SK Merc, very tidy kit, can remember his sons name but he had a smash in it, and I think it had a new cab, the truck is in preservation now, owned by Greenwoods from Manchester…happy days GB
chepstowchap: Is this the Springfield haulage mentioned on this thread ? The F10 was shot near Eardisley on the Loeminster Brecon road
There was also a lad…Steve■■? owner driver… who used to pull for George Mayers, he later ran for Springfield, used to park the truck off the A55 near the Lep pub, GB
