Old Firms in Oxford Area

Called in Cherry’s Abingdon the other day to see Roger, looks like someone at Smiths Concrete splashing out, these were in there for PDI.

My Tonka Toy/ Caravan with “The Dark Side” & my Boy at Great Dorset Steam Fair this year, flying the flag of Oxfordshire as you can see

I think Smiths have 4 new mixers coming. I’ve seen one on the road already. Smiths Bletchington have an FMX 8wheeler on order I’m reliably informed, along with some more MANs.

Hi Muckaway. Are these Company mixers or did Smiths ever try out the O/D malarky seeing that Hanson own 49 % of them ? regards Toshboy

Company mixers I think, although there was an OD at Warwick a few years ago-he moved over when Smiths took Warwick from Hansons (originally Pioneer I think)
Talking of mixers, Hills have apparently got a plant at their new sand pit near Tubney Woods. I guess for mortars, I’m sure Altitude will know more.

There’s nothing like that in there Nathan, I will find out next time I’m in there.

I’m wondering if the driver that told me meant Bowling Green pit?

I firmly believe that you will soon be back at Smiths after “serving your quota of penance” on the “outside” so to speak ! :sunglasses:  Cheers Dennis.

Never mind on the “outside” Dennis, I defected! Im the only person to ever switch sides.
Must admit I’d rather drive a Foden than a Mean And Nasty anyday.
I’ve got first refusal somewhere when a job pops up…

I will watch this “space” with interest then Nathan :sunglasses: ,anyhow, hows Callum doing? I suppose he’ll be looking forward to Santa coming down the chimney eh" What kind of motor is he getting this year ? Cheers Dennis.

I tell you what this phone must share MAN components. Everytime I try to post they come out upside down (yes tried turning the phone around…)

Don’t think so mate, I was in there this week nothing like that in there. The guy’s that work in both pit’s are great, you wouldn’t find better people anywhere. Sadly both places can only be describe as ■■■■ holes, if a dog ■■■■■■ you need to be towed in and out. :unamused:

Never been in Bowling Green or Upwood but tipped in Tubney last December; You had to reverse up onto the tip and almost down the other side. A weird way to do it as most places don’t like excessive reversing.

I think with that lot, they don’t give a toss how they get you tipped or loaded, but you do something wrong and the ■■■■ hits the fan, elf and safety in those places is a ■■■■■■■ joke.
