I’ve always thought Chris Hayter run a really smart fleet-I stand corrected but don’t they buy all secondhand? They always look clean and the older Volvo FM artics that do the shuttle runs between Witney and Haddenham (they’re on private plates now but they were originally T reg) look as good as the day they left the factory. If I ever got bored with tipper driving…

One of Werrells artics had a spot of bother in the Total garage at Ducklington earlier; Fire Brigade were there and it looked like his tank was hanging off…
Here you go Muckaway these are a bit more up your street. Firm in our yard at Didcot called V-Tech fit reversing camera’s/flashing lights & all kinds of electrical goodies to wagons, do a lot of the Hanson owner-drivers. I like the red one, she looks a right beast!
Here you go Andrew, couple of memory joggers for us!
Two of Banbury Plants’ new motors on display at Bloxham Rally
I’ve never heard of Hatford Civil Engineering; The signwriting says WaltonWell Road (Jericho) Oxford…
Callum and Mummy with Cleaver Haulages’ Mammoth Major tanker. Sarahs’ dad did some welding work on the chassis during it’s restoration a several years ago, not long after it was rescued from being an anti-■■■■■ device in a farmers’ gateway. The cab was built from scratch.
Well! You sure know how to show a girl a good time Mucka! You’ll be spoiling her with a day out at a steam railway next.
D’ you know I was going to P.M. you the other day about that motor! I read an article a couple of years back, about it;s restoration, and the fact that it was in Witney. There wasn’t much of the original left, according to the write up, which I suppose we have to believe, but it was good to see the finished job and another one saved. I made a model of it, well a chop from an EFE tanker, so not too much to do really. Although it had a round tank so had to wrap an oval one round it out of plasti card and stick an extra filler cap on. Cut a bit off the front springs, then a couple of spats on the cab, as it was a Mk 1 model. I have some pics of it, stored somewhere but can’t find them at the mo, so will have to wait for my son to get back and see if he can find 'em! It was reported to be one of the first motors Hansons had when they started Jet, would you know if that would be correct?
Hi George, yes, it gets better, we’re going to Goodwood Festival of Speed on Saturday, courtesy of her parents The AEC was featured in CVC about 6 years ago shortly after restoration. I think it was one of the first 3, JET name coming from the area code JET for where I can’t remember. I think it dates from ‘54 and so I’ve been told one of the last of that model. A guy from up North stayed in a caravan in Cleavers’ yard making the wooden cab and I think the tank had a load of work as it had warped over time. I don’t think the tank is the original as I’ve been told only the bare chassis was found in a gateway. I can’t remember who but there is a 1:76 model of it (Oxford diecast?), I saw one at Gaydon.
