Old companies in lincolnshire 1980's - 1990's

We ran some F717 8 speed and light springs (as F1017 AN F1217 same chassis) all ran up to 48 ton Danmark to Italy ect , the only engines never stripped were F7 AN F12 all Intercoolers , so i don`t see how an F10 could be better value ,cost more than 38 tonne F7 ,carry less ,use more fuel and no better on hills only top speed if breaking the law on motorway ! , found same wid F86 great for money ,88 why bother ? but F89 oh ja now you are cooking , that 330 six beat any Scania 350 V8 , maybe your F7 had on the wrong badges.

Yes, ROR monoleaf 2nd & 3rd axle but I can’t remember if the front axle was a Granning set up or not.

Out of all these Lincs firms on here there’s not many wilcox bodies ,were they patriotic to weightlifter ?

Weightlifter were obviously very popular with being local but Wilcox were used more by hauliers south of the county. Up to 32 tonne they used the AHP chassis but this along with there own chassis struggled at the start of 38 tonners. There were many 8 wheelers round here in the 80’s and 90’s and the majority were fitted with weightlifter bodies.
