Ah the woodley deff rings a bell, cheers mate.
regards dave.

Anyone know how the Derry is performing since it reopened, Regards Larry.

I used the Woodley many times before the M6 was fully open Dave. First time would be about 1963, I was driving a Ford trader, probably well overloaded.

I don’t think Little Chef have been doing too well in recent years, just goes to show the changing face of “the Road”,as the old transport cafes started to close as the M/way system expanded and numerous By-passes opened,Little Chef expanded catering exclusively for the motorist now all that has changed.Cheers Bewick.

Very true dennis, they had started to close about 10yrs ago, wonder if this will ever happen to mc/ds,kfc,and the likes.

I agree too Harry but I use them on the road here for the free wifi so I can keep up with things. Un petit café is all I need to log on for as long as the battery lasts and sometimes don’t need to buy anything if the queue is too long or I can park close enough outside.

Most of the routiers here have free wifi these days so no need to divert from my chosen overnight stops though.

Does anybody recognise the transport cafe beyond the MkV tanker (Harold Wood?). The sign seems to read LX Transport Cafe. The negative dates from the 1960s so it is a long way back.

Could it be Tims at Dewsbury, He used to open at night also, Regards Larry.

Think so

Does anyone remember a cafe on the Stratford Road out of Chipping Norton? Near the Rollright turn, you crossed an old railway bridge and started to climb the hill and it was on the right. It’s just a layby now but the overgrown entrance is still there.

hiya,
Never been in this one, just wonder what the neighbours
thought when the place got busy and a guy with a cold 150
starts to build the air up outside their front door, now who
said spoilsport, my missus would have done a Norah Batty on
him and chased him with the brush.

Anyone remember this one in tinsley,i used it a lot when delivering coil to shepcot lane, you got a good dinner in this one early 70s.
