Old Iran,
Great pics Orientmack especially the Magirus Deutz. I never drove an aircooled diesel.
The most unusual one was the Detroit 2 stroke 320 supercharged on my GMC Astro!
Hi all
I posted this a few years ago, but this is old Turkish !!
Taken in no-mans land between Derraa and Ramtha.
What a hero, Otus Bir …!!!
GS
Can only be one place, no prizes for guessing either
No trailer number plate, tut tut, naughty boy
Must have fallen off back up the road officer!
What did happenend to OHS?
I posted these pics on the Mack thread last year, but think they should also be on the OHS thread as well, really interesting tales thanks.
Great pics.
Don’t quite know why OHS and Contex group disappeared but I’m hoping to see Orhan Sertel shortly and I’ll try to find out what happened.
I spotted this at the Mid America Truck Show in Louisville, Kentucky last week
Thanks for posting this Newmercman.
Same cab as mine but tarted up al americano.
I would have liked to see what they had done to the interior. Mine was pretty palatial.

The tarting-up of the styling has spoilt the good looks of the original Astro. Have a look at page 1 of the thread and see if you agree.
Would that be a young Tony Baker coming from behind the truck ■■
Certainly looks like him, and he did a stint for OHS too.
Steve.
Definitely looks like Tony. I had the honour to take him out on his first trip!!!

I had the ‘honour’ of knowing him and maintaining his trucks for many years at M+C Tpt.
An amazing character and always a pleasure to spend time with, but it invariably ended up with a few ‘lost’ hours and a headache !!!
I sincerly hope that he is looking down at us now and enjoying some of the threads on this forum, he sure would of had more than a few tales to tell !!
Steve.

I think the extra chrome is just a revamp, that’s how the Yanks do things, suspension upgrades? more technology? Hell no, just stick a big chrome grille on it
I agree, the original, smaller, grille does look better
I agree with American upgrade theory!
The original grille and the cab as a whole had a certain understated elegance set off by the ■■■■ tinted windows. It certainly gave me a thrill the first time I saw it on the dockside in Antwerp. Unfortunately even though I had the keys I couldn’t start the thing. No one told me that Detroit 2 strokes all had an emergency stop button as they and a tendency to run away over their governors. On the GMC you had to tilt the cab to get to it. The guy who came out from GMC looked at me as if I was an idiot as he calmly tilted the cab and reset the stop button.
Another pic of my GMC this time with a great guy whose name I can’t remember but after he left OHS he bought himself a White Road Commander and had ‘Outlaw’ written across the front. Antyone remember him?
Love this one taken in Turkey - Old and New!
Note the Ljubljana tilt designed to fit the railway tunnels between Yugoslavia and Austria in the days when we had to catch the train!
