Ocado driving test

Those 29 seat minicoaches are built on the Mercedes 816 Vario chassis. Those chassis are available in 7.5 tonne GVW, but (a) they don’t have an unladen weight of 7.5 tonnes (except for some very specialist applications that don’t carry any significant payload other than the vehicle and its equipment) and (b) they ain’t Sprinters (even if the nose styling is similar).

The vario range is now discontinued but the sprinter has a big varient like this 29 seater mini coach absolutly gutless when its loaded cant remember the unladen weight but its well over 4 tonnes

That’s an Unvi Riada, and the only relation to a Sprinter is the way it’s built at the front, it’s a Vario chassis but unlikely a 7.5t chassis…

Its actually an UNVI Classic G-T on a vario chassis like i said the unladen weight is over 4 tonnes and they go up to 33 seats.

I will have a look at the max gross weight on the plate it cant be that far of 7.5 tonnes when you consider all the passengers plus luggage.

The radia we had were built on the sprinter chassis carrying 23 pax plus driver. Nice to look at but again fully laden absolutly gutless and went through brake pads discs like no one business

I checked the unladen weight on that unvi believe it or not the legal lettering states 6420 KG.

Which only leaves around 1100 KG payload if the GVW is 7.5 tonnes.
Now thats quite worrying if the average weight of a passenger is 9 stone which is around 60 KG with a full load thats about 1800 KG. Plus any Luggage. Although im not sure of the maximum weight allowed on this vehicle. It surley cant be over 7.5 tonnes

6420kg! Blimey.
