dozy:
I had diabetis review on Friday , asked nurse , she didn’t know about informing dvla of heart murmur but said she’d find out for me , did repeat at moment I’m fine to carry on driving with diabetis , but would find out if I should notify anyone
AFAIK, if diabetes is treated with medication then it’s notifiable.
Clicking through, if diabetes is controlled by diet, no need to inform DVLA.
Insulin or tablets, read the details on site.
Don’t take any chances. Check and double check.
Mines controlled by tablets ( metaformin ) but was told I was ok to continue driving ,I’ll have a read
Had two heart attacks when 48 ( 74 now and still full time owner driver) took 18 months to get HGV licence back after treadmill test. Always only given licence for 3 years and usually have to do a fitness test. As could be expected last year licence renewed with no treadmill, I always use my own GP for medical as he has my full medical history and blood pressure etc test results to add on medical form. Just in case someone wants to question why I am still working, I am financially secure but enjoy what I do and as there is a certain amount of physical work in the niche sector I work in it keeps me fit and yes I do have another life and live it to the full
