This firm have been around a long time, maybe more than the 20 years I mentioned previously, they seem to keep getting away with it somehow.
Perhaps the firm itself covers its arse by using subcontract/self employed labour and when they have a problem they simply find someone new.
Just a theory but my advice would be to steer well clear.
All drivers are only taken on under a self employed basis, contracted to them or small dodgy agencies or mini bosses, when the ■■■■ hits the fan you know who,s door it lands on.
All part if the brave new world. Nick and Dave love these companies - they take people off benefits. What has what they get up to got to do with it? These are the wealth generators, the risk takers and they ‘work hard’ 'cause they want to get on
I’ve worked for them and I can say it’s the worst company I’ve ever worked for!
2 days i lasted before I told the agency not to send me there again.
All their drivers are self employed/subcontractors to minimise their liability. All their 7.5s and vans are inspected for damage on their return and any damage that is not on the defect sheet is chargeable in full!
Damages to customers houses which is chargeable in full!

Unless you are desperate don’t work for them.
Ah yes I forgot about the office parasite who came charging out with the inspection sheet to every van that returned ,looking it over for damage, if you miss something on a morning check and its found on your,e return you get the bill. Its not a job its a sentence.
worked for this lot when they were based in radcliffe through my agency had to be there for 4 am every morning then stand around in the open until you were picked to go with one of there drivers this could take anything upto three hours !
then off you go you would be driving first typically to somewhere like peterboro or glouscester there driver head down" wake me up in four hours" . four hours later wake him up hes phoning customers to tell them how far awa y we are arrive first customer “you swop the cards whilst i do this one " spend next eight hours on and off the back of the waggon delivering breaks taken whilst fitting washing machine then yep you guessed it " swop the cards again you can drive back " he does paper work then gets head down arrive back at radcliffe 10pm join que to tip scrap/waste then fuel finnaly finnish with truck at 111 pm ish goto cab wheres my card ?” oh took that out at the gate whilst you were in the office with the paperwork “get to signing point upload card and go home thier tm” see you again at 4 am "me “you wont need rest” tm " nah you will be on a paper tacho dont worry about it " saw the results of two of their driver falling asleep at the wheel in the yard . money for thier drivers was good around £1-1.2k a week but they were doing massive hours did about two months thier but luckily fell in with a good crew who didnt do the mad hours/long trips got asked to form a crew of my own would of earned £7 a drop + £3 for a fit typically 26 a day £5 for every scrap item usualy around 10 £50 for leaving the van tidy clean and fueled and £50 for long distance but declined as saw somw customers pulling scams etc that cost the drivers ££££
No matter how desperate you may be for a job, ask to see a copy of their Contract of Employment before you start. If they are reluctant to comply, you can be reasonably sure that you will be better off looking around some more.
They’re more likely to lie to you to keep you hanging on…
Perhaps they pay “upto £18ph for weekday shifts!” - that’ll be Christmas day as part of a tramping duty across the entire Christmas period…
Perhaps you’ll be getting “Brand New Kit!” - That’ll be “kit” as in you have to put it together yourself out of bits… The walkaround checks sheet is actually a “inventory list” out of an IKEA box… You just know that the very last screw will be missing…" (The warden at the local jail who went sick tonight.)
Perhaps it’s overtime paid at double time! - on all shifts beyond 15 hours… You run bent, you get some… If you’re not caught within a week, we’ll worry about having to actually pay it at that point.
You might even get paid £1 per hour more if you join their umbrella firm! Their weekly fee is however, £62 so even if you do max hours, the £1ph won’t cover the umbrella fee, let alone anything else.
Even if you phone to ask them to “take you off the list”, you’ll just be confirming that you can still be reached on this phone number - a bit like replying to spam emails.

Conmen extract a lot more when taking a few hundred off someone with a few thousand than they do extracting a few thousand from someone with a few million.
More marks. Easier marks.
The ideal “mark” is someone as thick as ■■■■ who has loads of money of course. “A fool and their money are soon parted” stands up.
On the reverse side of the coin, - someone with a Mensa IQ and totally skint - is likely to smack the buggers in the mouth two sentences into their spiel…
