Rastas and Dash.
These two drivers were on the same outfit.
Dear old Dashboard Dave! After he left Manno he worked for Breda and drove one of their Acking F*ktrosses! I drove one too: totally unsuitable for North Africa - never mind, Breda was quite good to work for. Dave was great to run with and had a bit of a reputation for being sensible; not that that stopped me and him cancelling and going on the ps one night at Bailen truckstop in Spain where we designed and redesigned truck cabs till we couldn’t stand. I’d love to see those diagrams now!! LOL. Robert

I assume you mean Uncle Tony Bradfield - ran with him many times, bless him - he can’t still be going down there… Yes, probably. Harry, as a former ERF NGC ‘European’ driver (consider yourself saluted, old thing), just glance at my most recent blogs on the ERF European thread and check that I’m not talking (even more) b**locks, will you? Thanks, Robert

Hoy! thats my photo, Have you ever heard how Rastas is getting on Charley??
He left Manno’s & got himself a new UK girlfriend. He gave her a child & worked the system to get her a council house in Pompey . Problem was it was in the same street as his other girlfriend & child who he was still going with. They met & Brian was history.
Btw. I put the names in the right order on your snap.

We used to call the Manno driver in the vest ‘A-J’, if I remember rightly. Dreese (Driss) worked for the Breda office in Tangiers. I just overlapped with Budha by two or three trips. Nice shots! Robert
JayCee / CeeJay…man in vest? just a picture in a drawer to me. No disrespect to yerself Robert but hardly worth a mention.

Bless yer mate! I’m having a good old laugh here: A-J used to sit with ‘Seaside Ron’ in their deckchairs in Tangier docks, with hankies on their heads chatting away as if they were on the prom at Clacton! Seaside Ron used to work down the pits and one day he described the lads who were lining up to stow away in his trailer for Spain as follows: ‘They were stood there wi’ their placcy bags for all the world as if they were waiting for ‘pit bus in the morning.’ Sigh. Life’s rich tapestry and all that… Robert
