North Africa work

You’re welcome  ! i think this is the documentary that you’re talking about :
youksproductions.com/documen … onheur.htm

It was set in 2002 summer and the pictures are from the '80 & '90 , Said Draifa is a SNTR driver i’m not sure if he retired or not but i think this is him in the picture.

David Miller:
Good looking goat, though.

David

I was rather taken by the goat too. Easier than camels because you don’t have to stand on an orange-box to reach them. Robert

Easier to get the horn too.900x20. :smiling_imp:

Yes, that’s the one Raji. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be available on DVD :frowning:

I did visit Libya before the revolution, though not with a truck this time. Here are some happy snaps I took. Robert

I saw an old vhs movie once called Apocalypse 25 25 which was an Italian version of Mad Max set in the year 25 25. They found an old Fiat 619 with a water tanker trailer sitting in the desert and it started straight of the battery. Apart from missing half the windscreen and a flat tire it went pretty good for a truck that was at least 550 years old.

Jeff…

Yes, a few - I can’t remember what makes. Most of the trucks were Libya-Trucks: Fiats built under licence or with old tooling (or whatever). Robert

Thanks Robert , and you’re right about Fiat’s , they are very common there , Iveco’s also i think.

Had to post this one Robert after seeing their mate Cliff Luxton on the Lilles thread. A trio of the Davies Turner subbies back around 2003 I would guess parked at IIRC The Village pub in the Trafford area whilst home from Morocco.
Left to right - Barry C. Lee who sadly has passed away, Bob Tranz ex Meachers ERF in the centre and my father-in-law Bobby Long’s 430 Mack Magnum this end. I met up with these 3 after being in Sale that day and had a great night with them and a few Turks. The mixed grill at £2.99 was exceptional value and we all sat there stuffed after 4 sticky toffee puddings drowned in thick custard “sunk us”. Bob Tranz was a generous man. I got away from there about 9pm one summers evening and got back to Exmouth where I was living then around midnight in the car but good times.

Around 1998 / 1999 this would have been, Bob Long’s first Magnum for Morocco with a hired TIP Trailer from Davies Turner.
