Here’s another; Mayhew Freight, Kirstead, Brooke, Norwich.

Hi,

Mayhew Frieght bought out Norfolk Haulage that were based in Trowse (now the May Gurney site). Mayhew was bought out by Turners on the airport estate

Can remember Dad had an ERF with bed that folded onto the seats, very modern for its day!!

His dad also worked for Norfolk Haulage.

Me? I would have loved to but went to sea instead.

If my memory serves me well, didn’t Mayhews buy Brightons from Newton Flotman ■■? Cheers Rodders

Who ran the wagons out of the abbatoir at Watton in Norfolk, they were green and IIRC ERFs.A regular sight going through Sheffield on their way over Woodhead to Manchester.I’m sure their name began with “B” and I would sometimes see them running over at night.

I think the company you are thinkin’ of Chris Edmundsons. They ran all ERF’s with eaton twin splitters!! Now Mrs E. who ran the company certainly was NOT the type of woman to get wrong with!!!.Rodders

You are thinking of BOWES from Watton… Len Perrin who was on Wyatts with me went to work for them after Wyatts finished
Bill

Someone mention “Hopton Timber”?

C’mon guys, someone out there MUST have some pics of Roger E Mills & Sons? The photograph below is of my dad with his Volvo F88 taken by whom I do not know nor where/when.

Would be nice to see any pics from the late '70’s early '80’s of Great Yarmouth when all the trucks would be parked up along the quay area too!

Regards, Pete
