Anyone go anything pro or con to say about Virgin?
Both me and the wife are on O2 and both contracts are up in a month. For reasons mentioned in this post we’re swapping providers and Virgins the one that wins, sim only unlimited everything for £15 a month. Theyre actually on the EE network but without the 4g side. For the last month we’ve been trying a Virgin SIM in an old phone and it’s definately better than O2 both on internet and calls. Most of the time I seem to be up in the highlands, which may not be applicable to you but Ive also tried it in Wales and across the south and it seems absolutely fine. Plus it works at home, which O2 was pathetic at. Ive been an O2 customer since 1991 but this last few years theyve just got worse and worse, crap signal, crap allowances and bloody expensive for what you get.
Thanks for that, Rich T. I’ve nothing good to say about o2 at all to be honest and I too will be out of contract in a month or so. Having Virgin services at home already, it seemed to make sense of the same tarrif you have mentioned. Do you buy your 'phones outright then or are you keeping your current one. I have been looking at the Samsung Galaxy xCover 2 but they army all that common over here yet. Possibly consider the S4 Active too. My current HTC is going in the wood processor when I’m done with it, it really is an abortion of a 'phone!
I’ll just keep my old phone, Im to tight to buy one out right and when you look at the price difference between the sim only and contract prices, you pay a small fortune for your ‘free’ phone. When my current one breaks, I’ll probably just buy another secondhand one as they seem to last ok and something like an original Galaxy is around £50.

Anybody else got problems with O2 phone signal,I’ve had no signal since 1pm here in Galloway, think i’ll be moving to Vodafone at renewal time!!!I’ve had loads of signal issues with Vodafone lately either the signal is poor or non existent and would need to ring someone half a dozen times to keep the conversation going. So I would say Vodafone are just as [zb]
Ive spoke with vodaphone about this and it’s do with them tinkering around with 4g.
I’m on o2 as well and same up here in Yorkshire, can be on phone to someone and it cuts out saying network busy. How does 3 compare to others in terms of phone signal (not 3g signal)
I found 3 quite poor when off the major routes, I think they dont have a backup 2g signal, so need 3g for phonecalls. For the last month Ive been trying sims from everybody to try and get a decent appraisal of each, rather than just looking at their coverage checkers (which dont seem to relate to anything)
