I dont know if this is strictly relevant to NightOwl
s demise!
Oh, I don’t know…maybe they’ll put £2 on the parking for every change of owner!!!

"Dear TruckNet UK.
Can I have your permission to re-post the link on your site to the PDA
parking petition? This is a very important subject which affects all
drivers, whether internet-enabled or not, and can only to be to
everyone’s benefit. The subject of lack of parking and facilities for
professional drivers is one which should transcend any squabbling or
debate over who can post what and where.
Thankyou
ps, if you don’t want me to do it, then I would ask if you would.

I’ve asked the powers that be, and it’s been agreed that I can stick the link back up for you in a locked thread of it’s own…so I’m off to do just that for you.
Oh, and thanks for having the courtesy to ask…

My personal thought is that this should have been emailed directly to a member of Admin.
This is only polite. I use a link in my signature, but I asked in the way I have just mentioned for permission to do so. This was granted immediately.
Now freed of the onerous responsibility of moderatordom, I can say that I personally would not have deleted that link.
But you have to remember that a moderator`s decision is final, and is taken in the best interest of all members. Many of us remember how the very first truckers forum, the basic but effective Usenet group uk.free.trade.trucking, collapsed under the weight of postings made by second-hand truck dealers, parts merchants and the like, simply to post links to their causes.
Why don`t you send this request directly to Rikki?
Vince
Many Thanks Lucy
On a similar note, I went past Truckstop Birtley, and apart from 20-30 Peter Cook trailers, it was empty.
Is this a sign of things to come?
Yes, perhaps I should have private mailed Rikki or the ever overworked moderators, and for that I apologise, but now, lets have everybody signing it, it is for our benefit, whichever hat we wear

Thank you Lucy. BTW, thanks for the Xmas greetings, and a Happy New Year to one and all. See you all at Truckfest, and hopefully at the Xmas party. I wonder if Phil realised just how close that lit ■■■ got to his…
Personally, the standards of Nightowl ( as with many truckstops ) are pretty low but at the end of the day " any port in a storm " and we do have a bit of a storm of lawlessness in this island at the moment.
