well tough mammaries, what kind of stupid transport firm would use a curtain sider with high value goods, it should be in a box van trailer with a padlock or shipping container .Idiots .

There are probably many!

There are ! :bulb:
As for MSAs o/night parking,…the amount they extort for parking should include some element of security.
[zb] rip off merchants the lot of them. :smiling_imp:

But when you are told not to park in MSA with drink on,when parking is paid for you, when there is a reasonably secure truckstop between collection and delivery point to be used!!

Yeh, why would you? :unamused:
No excuse there I reckon if he had been told that, and there was an alternative.
I am always very selective where I park and don’t park if carrying similar, it’s only common sense.

If they are really that bothered about the security of the load then it should either be trunked or the driver should be directed to a secure holding yard overnight. Doesn’t matter what sort of trailer you have though, if they want in they will get in. I was speaking to a container driver at Newark a few weeks ago and he told me that he was in Churwell Valley, about 7-8 containers lads all parked together. That night all of them were broken into. Seals cut with bolt cutters, up inside and had whatever they wanted from inside. The driver in question only had cardboard recycling on but the guy next door had vacuum cleaners on and they made off with nearly all of them.

Driver being interviewed the next day: “I didn’t hear or see anything, it’s as if they disappeared into a vacuum”.

Looks as though the fixed webbing/xl rated curtains has caused them to ■■■■■ the curtains in such a dramatic way.

In the olden, days high value loads were delivered, in the day no overnight stops just careful planning, and if needed, double manned,to make it a day run.

But since the advent of large “blue chip hauliers” subbing out to secondary hauliers subbing out to who-ever, nobody cares, not my problem,

No need for that at all.

He meant that a wagon was empty and still had the curtains slashed, not that that wagon was empty. Curtains getting slashed through spite when empty is not new, I had it done to me when I was on general, and that is at least 10 year ago!
