Out of interest, what does this ‘breaking down pallets’ consist of? Never done it.
Say you’ve got a pallet of yogurts with 96 cartons on it, it will more than likely be mixed with Cherry, Strawberry, Raspberry Yogurts etc.
Well, we are expected to put each type of yogurt on separate pallets, even if you’ve only got 1 carton of ‘Summer Fruits Yogurt’ it goes on it’s own lonely pallet.
‘Such Fun’ after you’ve driven for 4 hours to get there, then you spend the next hour doing their work for 'em.
No, separate yogurts wouldn’t necessarily go on separate pallets they would be separated like you said but possibly onto the same pallet but this would be just so they could check it all off, I’m talking about Morrisons here not Lidl or Aldi.

To be fair, this was about 12 years ago, so maybe I did put a couple of varieties on the same pallet. I was just trying to explain the process.
On another note… Delivered at Morrisons Gadbrook this afternoon I arrived at 1630, my company had phoned in advance to say I’m short on time, I was tipped and on my way (19 pallets) from booking in to going out the gate in under 30 minutes. Well done!
Still didn’t get parked in time, pulled onto the M6 with 4 miles to Lymm services and 15 minutes left to see a wall of traffic, went 5 minutes over… Send me to the gallows, I should have thought of the children!
But seriously credit where it’s due!

Jeez I used to do that crap when I was working in store for Tesco in the warehouse. Had to split down delivery cages into product groups… sauces, tea bags, pop, pet food, shampoo, allsorts… Bloody nightmare as some cages had hundreds of small fiddly items on them.
Interesting though and I assume contributes to why it can take so long in them places to get sorted.
