One firm I was on for had an app with everything on it , for booking time off, holidays and holiday requests, to check my pay, enter expenses and claim night out money, it could record evidence of a pre departure safety walk around check.
Before the app it would involve ringing the HR department or the planner to sort out basic administrative issues, it was certainly time saving.
My firm for all its faults is cool about drivers being independent and getting stuff fixed like that ourselves. We go into the Scania garage next door and get the bulbs on the company account, I carry a handful of different types as spare.
