This is a shot of the m/t trailer rank at Milnthorpe so you can see what position the rolled sheets occupied on the flat ! The time line I was referring to regarding Robsons was in the late 60’s at a time when they ran many many 33 foot Northern trailers before 40 footers got the go ahead and then I believe it caught Robsons on the hop as the demand for 40 footers went mad like the similar panic that ensued as Curtainsiders took the industry by storm ! Cheers Bewick.
Blimey I’ve seen that shot on page 1 and now it’s on page 2

Gosh, that’s a bit close to the wall, on the nearside.
Spent Saturday " happy as a pig in doo doo" shunting in the yard at MAP and this was one of the jobs I did sheeting this load ( and no gloves were used either ! ) bound for Germany and all my own work I’ll have you know ! Just one busy busy yard on a Saturday at this superb operation ! but brings back happy memories from years past at the BTS depot in Milnthorpe ! Cheers Bewick.
Now is a this is a very good example of the art which Bewick would like, dont know if you still look in Dennis but you got to like these two loads done proper, Buzzer
Its a good job Davies has many threads as without personal like me there would be naff all to look at, maybe you should stop moaning and post some content yourself, just saying, Buzzer
Top own account firm in the day John and a great paper mill back then ! I believe those two Beavers were semi automatic which were the "dogs " back then but unfortunately Guard Bridge went the way of a number of Scottish mills after a couple of failed takeovers and eventually closed down ! Sad ! 11 out of 10 for the sheeting and roping though which is something the Scottish lads were A.C.E. at nearly ( but not quite) in the same league as the Cumbrians !!
I reckon that Riever would have been loaded with Peat moss litter which was produced around the Longtown area for many years until the practice was stopped for environmental reasons .
