New satnav

Well, I’ve had it a week now. Far too much going on with it. I want to switch a satnav on and that’s it. I don’t want to listen to the wireless, there’s a vd player in the lorry, I have 10 fingers and 9 toes, so I don’t need a calculator.

I’ve the snooper truck mate with the TV, think it’s the s8000, I love it, I did see the cheaper ones on eBay etc but I always believe in getting what you pay for,

There must be some difference in quality, maps or being user friendly etc,

I may be totally wrong but it’s just me being me I guess,

Same here, Chris (and Moose). I just shelled out for a DB8500 on the same reasoning. No major gripes so far!

Is this the model with the build in dash cam.

This is the one, mate…activegps.co.uk/user-manuals … -sound.pdf
Its got connectivity for a rearview cam (optional extra :unamused: ), but no built in dashcam. I havent fathomed out yet if this could be used for connecting a dashcam, but would be surprised (or disappointed) if it doesnt link up with the DVR2HD cam (another extra!) Excellent for tunes, tv, dab, films, phone, nav & (free) TMC traffic commentary through the cab stereo, though! I also subscribed to the AURA camera database for a year (29.99) - in for a penny, in for a pound. Still learning how to get the best out of it (multi routes etc), but cant say I feel shortchanged on it tbh.

Just bought one, see how good it is

Got mine through seems to work well, half expected it to takes ages to pick up a signal as I live in the country but it found one straight away. So far spot on

I bought one this week as well, the only problem is that it will only take the first four digits of a post code, is yours the same?

type the first four then space then the remainder eg ca14 5lb . works for me anyway
