Doesn’t Ferrybridge run off biomass now? Or am I thinking of somewhere else?

A new biomass power station has just been completed and going thru tests on Troon Harbour but I heard it wont be connected to the national grid for another two years, What’s the point of that then ■■

Yeah Ferrybridge has built a biomass plant, not sure if it’s fully operational. Drax burn wood pellets that are imported from North America.

Mad! Using fossil fuels to transport over that distance only to then burn it creating yet more pollution… :grimacing:

Doesn’t make sense does it? And there’s still millions of tonnes of coal beneath our feet.

Why are black cabs being tested in the Arctic Circle?
A brand new design for London’s black taxi has been put through its paces in a hostile - and very clean - environment.
It’s hoped this update will reduce pollution from the famous fleet of 23,000 vehicles.

I wonder what will be next? :grimacing:

I’m a black cab driver and i certainly will not be able to afford one due to the downturn in work thanks to the gridlock caused by those pathetic cycle lanes!
Pollution has gone through the roof because of them. I’m going back trucking!

Bloody ell, out of the frying pan and into the fire …
