Never seen a job like this

Carryfast:
I’d suggest that new entrants to the industry aspire to work along the lines of the opening scenes of Convoy or Il Bestione

I love that can’t see how utterly ridiculous you sound coming out with stuff like this  Yup I’d say all the young lads coming to this job live by films that are between 45 and 50 years old

OH DEAR,NEVER MIND MOVE ON…what a ■■■■ you are…

Happy to be of service. Have a good weekend

I’d suggest that new entrants to the industry aspire to work along the lines of the opening scenes of Convoy or Il Bestione rather than running around the local housing estates for Travis Perkins or final miles rail freight movements for Tesco etc

Or maybe they work doing something in the middle of what you describe, you know like the tens of thousands of HGV drivers in this country do on a daily basis. Of course you wouldn’t know this with your inability to find work in the industry in the last 30 years.

Carryfast:
I’m obviously hated by employers

Never a truer word spoken. You ever stopped for a second to wonder why?

Doesn’t take much to be fair!

Oh god, are you lot really going to make me ■■■■ about splitting half this topic into the Bar? Or can we just get back to talking about something vaguely related to the OP?

(No, having another ■■■ for tat argument with CF is NOT related to the OP.)

I’d have thought Carryfast deserves his own forum at this stage, the titan of industry that he is we are blessed to have him

To be fair no film director has chosen to use a Travis Perkins Hiab delivery or collecting and delivering a rail freight consignment for the local supermarket RDC or spending most of a shift at an anything but trunking hub for the opening scene of a modern UK trucking based movie.

That’s a fair point, but it’s very difficult not to respond when Carryfast continually hijacks thread after thread with his word vomit, bitterness and using his own failure as a generalisation towards the industry, particular when the OP might be a new driver or a driver asking for advice on a change of work.

He just ruins every single thread with his constant dribble.

Ah yes that massively over subscribed film genre……Go look at some of the viewing figures on YouTube for what you’d consider crap work.

I haven’t ‘hijacked’ any thread.Ive replied to posts totally on topic regarding wage structures using holiday pay as a carrot and why that isn’t a good thing.
Also employers reducing their wage cost exposure by reducing hourly wage rates for ‘other duties’ as referred to by Winseer.
Which is obviously form a large proportion of the degenerate local running UK road transport industry. So insult added to injury for anyone who prefers driving to ‘other duties’.
Oh and I’ve been on pre mod for ages with no issues with that.

Right. Enough. Bored now.

Locked.
