NERVES!!!!!!

NickW88:
I actually use my indicators, I’m certainly not rich and never ever use a hand held phone while driving, it’s either voice commands or Bluetooth hands free.

Then you sir are no BMW driver. I’ll let the others know of your treachery.

I should probably just hand the car back and buy a Hyundai i10 shouldn’t lol

And so it was a fail…

My nerves got the better of me… I was so nervous I creid before leaving the B&B (yes I’m a girl… It happens). Got to the school, someone else had failed before me and I had to excuse my self to the bathroom and cried, again■■?

Went out for and hour, practiced the tell me show me, and then a few reverses… Not one mistake or issue.

Test time and I though I was going to be sick! As I walked towards the truck I almost burst into tears again and kept having to stop and take deep breaths… This is so unlike me!

Did everything in the yard fine… Got out onto the road and just after leaving came up to a traffic light that had turned red… 2 cars ahead of me and a painted Keep Clear on the road, there was a directional arrow painted right above the keep clear… All faded etc and I paankicked and misjudged the Size of the keep clear area thinking it was bigger and braked harshly to avoid blocking the area… As soon as I stopped I realised my mistake, I had breaked too harshly in the fear of being in the box and failing… That I failed anyway. Once I stopped I realised the extra white bit at the top of the area was an arrow and that I could have moved forward and would have had enough space to clear the area… Stupid stupid mistake.

The examiner says it’s clear I can drive and won’t have a problem doing so but that my nerves were evident and it was clear they got in the way and she feels it’s because of how badly I want / need this…

I have rebooked for 4 weeks time, when I am back doing my CPC mod 4, Now I just have to find some way to not allow this to happen again. It has put a month delay on everything I’m trying to do and that affects both myself and my partner, who has been amazing and very supportive.

I bought Kalms… I made sure I had breakfast, I down loaded a relaxation app called worry box… Rested and got into the right frame of mind the day before etc etc… And still I was a nervous wreck… In all my life, with all I have done… I have never ever been this rediculosuly nerves. I have no idea now how to tackle it… But I have 4 weeks to get it in check.

Sorry to hear that Mistiek :frowning:

I really sympathise with you on the nerves front as, like you, I get nervous over most things. Training on Class C was no different. I was a bag of nerves the week before the lessons, never mind the test. I also failed my Class C first time as I let the nerves get to me but please don’t beat yourself up over it. These things happen.

The little things you may be able to get away with driving everyday, you can’t on test and this is just one of those things (People have failed on much worse I’m sure…) so don’t dwell too much on it and don’t be so hard on yourself.

The examiner said herself that you can drive and you wouldn’t be there taking the test if you couldn’t…!
Nerves are a tricky one to get around but if anything, look back on today as a learning experience for when you take the re-test. You’ll know what to expect so it wont be so bad next time.

Sounds like you’ve got a great fella there to support you too! Be kind to yourself, keep smiling and have a good weekend.

I’m sure you’ll ace it next time round now you know what to expect

Sorry to hear that, better luck next time…
Hopefully then you won’t be so nervous, as you will know what to expect!

Those of us that fail the first test are better drivers, first time pass drivers are just bellends aren’t they Beezle?

All the best for the retest, you’ve shown that you can drive it’s just the nerves that did you. At least you know what to expect next time round

Failed my C on the first attempt. Don’t give up, once you do pass you can take as many shunts as you need. I still believe that the driving test is the hardest test you’ll ever take. So much riding on a knife edge.

I wouldn’t know pal! :open_mouth:
I was already a bellend…

It makes no odds or difference whether you need a couple of tries to pass, it’s the amount of damage you do afterwards that counts!
There isn’t a single driver on the road that hasn’t made a mistake that would be a test fail…

But when it comes to you Nick, I’ll always stick the knife in and gloat!

Good luck next tim mistiek, now you’ve got it out your system! Sure you will be fine! Keep posting!

All the best next time Mistiek

You’ll be better for the experience next time All the best

Better luck next time i failed my first test missing a gear on a roundabout so i looked down at the gear stick to see wot i done causing me to not do a blind spot check i was told on training not to change on a roundabout but i chose to ignore oops lesson learnt but passed 2nd time then passed c&e 2 months later 0 driving faults go back you will be fine just take a little longer and plan ahead well worth it in the end
