Name and Praise; Pleasant Goods in Staff

Dobbies Garden Centres, owned and operated by Tesco, just under a different name. I’d say they are probably some of the most friendly places I’ve delivered to. :stuck_out_tongue:

Everywhere I go the goods in staff and security seem to be courteous and polite, maybe that’s because that’s how I treat them.

+1, just smile & 99 times out of a hundred you get a positive response.

Morrisons Gadbrook afternoon shift seemed alright and up for a good laugh when I was there the other day.

The security guy in the gatehouse at sainsburys east Kilbride when I went the other week was a very pleasant. Was also tipped in 15 mins which was most agreeable!

Tesco - Hinckley

Tesco - Widnes

Tesco - Southampton

Turning up at all the Tesco’s without the ‘Booking References’ can cause lots of bother ( understandably).
However I have found that the above three RDC’s still allow me in and sort out the problem with the minimum of fuss and the maximum of common sense and civility.

( There are often very good reasons why the driver does not have the Booking Reference when he sets off on his journey.)

Yes thinking about it Tosco Southampton are a great bunch of lads they usually take the pee out of my West Country accent over the intercom and you can have a giggle with them.

Never had a problem with the staff in Avonmouth either, always polite and friendly.

The new co op rdc at avonmouth i was in and out with no delays and friendly goods in staff.

Another vote for Tesco Southampton. Always pleasant and above all helpful if you have a genuine problem and are not trying it on, (so don’t go spoiling it for everyone else for your own selfish ends). Frequently willing to run a couple of pallets through from chill to ambient or vice-versa to save you moving bays.

Morrisons Bridgwater gets my vote, the girls around at the chill are sound as are the ladies in the frozen side, always have a good laugh with them.
I’ll probably get shot for this but I find the lady in Iceland Swindon frozen quite pleasant always does her best to get me tipped when I’m mad early too.

Curries at Newark always friendly enough.

Every B&M warehouse (Speke, Blackpool , and I think it’s Knowsley) all great albeit can be a bit slow at Speke.

Never had a problem at a Sainsburys anywhere so they are ok thus far.

Morrisons Bridgwater - great and seem to have picked some of their staff on looks (works for me!)

Co-op Andover the few times I have been in has been a good experience too.

All the lads @ Mansfield sand are a good bunch  The lads on the Machines @ Biffa Enfield are a good crack  Viiridor Ford are a happy bunch too  and Glass Recycle uk Barnsley top bunch

Travis Perkins RDC at Warrington. Always helpful and quick

I am going back 30 years here, but the blokes at P&G Trafford Park were spot on, from the gatehouse to the weighbridge to the plant operators, never had a cross word or any unwanted delays.

That isn’t the only place I have been treated well but it certainly sticks in my mind for a good place to tip or load. :stuck_out_tongue:

I have never really had a problem at these self tip RDC either, they just let you get on with the job and it is often quicker than waiting for a member of staff.

Tend to agree, doesn’t work everywhere, but mostly. Though the bulk of my driving has been at weekends when everyone seems a bit more chilled out. (could it be because they are being paid a more realistic hourly rate?)

Spicers office suppliers near Cambridge, it is over a railway line then you wait for the loud speaker to call you in to tip, great bunch of lads and no hassles or dramas.

We used to park trailers in there when I was at P&O Ferrymasters. I used to be in there regular at weekends. Was one guy on security was a right numpty. Thought he was the MD. Had me so wound up, caused me to pull a set of lines off one day. Twit!

This topic reminds me of when I was trade plating back in the 90’s. Lots of places you’d show up with a lovely shiny new truck that they had ordered and were waiting for. You would be treated as if you were just a nuisance disturbing their day.
Then there was odd places that couldn’t do enough for you. “Just leave it there mate, we’ll move it.” “Would you like a cup of tea?” “Where are you going next? - do you need a lift out to the motorway?” and so on. It was a pleasure to go to those places. Unfortunately I can’t now remember them.
