Muppet Left my digicard in all weekend

Friday left my digicard in the truck whilst i went into the office came back out and it had been put away forgot to go get the card. What will i need to do monday, I’m also in another lorry

Hopefully it’s been pulled and left in the office. Assuming the vehicle has not been moved and your tacho defaults to rest you should be ok. If its been moved or it has recorded work the best bet is to do a printout and write on the back that you were on weekly rest but forgot to eject the card.

As he said …
On monday morning you need to retrieve your card out of the old truck and use it in the the next one.
without it, you can`t drive anywhere, as you need to carry it at all times whilst driving … failure to do so incures penelties etc etc

I’d not actually considered the important act of retrieving the card

Maybe he left it in the middle of the yard and an angry shunter moved it?

are you sure ? cos as i understand it ,if it is lost or stolen you can drive up to 15 days whilst waiing for a replacement
if he aint got it, then it must come under one of these categories

YES!

Then your understanding of the rules is wrong
The OP has stated that he didnt loose it, nor was it stolen, so technically he cant drive without it, and it would be fraudulent to claim otherwise. he just needs to get hold his card before the start of his shift

I agree with peirre, the card is neither lost nor stolen and therefore should be carried with you.

As said if the tachograph was left on other work you’ll need to do a printout and write the explanation on the back however whilst writing the explanation I think that I’d forget to mention that you allow other people to drive the vehicle whilst your card is in it :unamused:

Have to say that I’ve never worked anywhere where other people move your vehicle without your permission.

If he turned up for work on Monday and wasn’t able to retrieve his card then it is ‘lost’ and he can just do printouts start and end of the shift. He has seven days to report the card lost but of course if it turns up within those seven days then no need to report it and an explanation on the back of the printouts will mean the jobs a good un.

Incidentally this err, flexing of the rules was suggested by a TN member, who also happens to be a VOSA employee and fairly regular poster but mentioning no names, in a previous thread in reply to someone in a similar situation. A search may turn up the thread. Maybe not in the spirit of the rules but ‘losing’ the card then finding it before you can report it isn’t an offence and provided it isn’t a regular occurrence I don’t think it would be a problem
