I went to 3663 in Hoddesdon on monday to find that they are now called bidvest

You’ll find a mixture of Bidvest and 3663 livery working out of the same depots Lizard. Been that way for years. Not 100% sure but I think Bidvest are 3663’s parent company. Or it could be the other way round!

I think Bidvest is the parent company. You can also see their name on the side of OnTime recovery wagons.

Bidvest is indeed the parent company of 3663, and has been for many years. It was previously Booker Foodservices. Ontime Automotive has been owned by Bidvest since they acquired the Jacobs shipping business in 2002. Bidvest have also just acquired the Mansfield Group, a recovery operator based in Stoke.

I’m finishing with these at 4am. been here since October at the oswestry depot. came on as a driver and got picked for supervisor job because I set the computers up for them one day.
Depots in leeds, Oswestry, Lichfield and Manc. They do a lot of arla work and will be doing a lot more, prob something to do with harry moran being some ex big wig at arla :bulb:
They are mainly recruiting through agencys. ARM is a moran outfit, and ACE are involved in a big way too. they are taking on culina work from oswestry arla by the end of the month.
Im leaving because the pay cut to be a supervisor isn’t worth the sh*t, 4 on 4 off nights. thought it would be a good idea to push myself up the ladder a bit and get a nice well paid desk job in 5 or so years :unamused:
I asked to go back driving for them and they said no, not after being a supervisor. so im off elsewhere and I shall be getting my big red kettle out of early retirement!

Hi what’s the work like from the oswestry depot and what sort of work is it cheers, I’ve been offered a job there

Hi mate, I used to work for Moran out of Manchester, and did most of the work from Wrexham and Oswestry before the Oswestry depot opened.

If it’s the same guy in charge at Oswestry, he’s an absolutely top bloke, no bull crap, says it as it is.

My only critism for the whole company is Ace Recruitment do the recruiting now, and they are terrible. The woman who owns it has a stinking attitude and if it wasn’t for them, I’d still be there.
They got my wages wrong 1 week, fair enough, can happen, so I notified them about it on the Monday, “we’ll look into it and sort it”. A week later wages still not right, so I contacted them again, and sent an email which was a bit abrupt, I said “I work for money, it’s not rocket science, number of hours x rate of pay + any expenses = wage, can you sort it now please?”.
I got a response off the owner telling me I should not speak to her staff this way and I was rude etc, so told her where to stick her job.

HTH

Hi thanks for that it was a.r.m who did the interviews and they reckon it is agency for 8 weeks then chance to go permanent.
It sounded ok to me but your never sure just trying to find out as much as I can about the work etc cheers

No worries.

I never had any dealings with ARM, they did the guys before me and it looks like they’re back again, so I can’t comment on them.

I think it’s all umbrella until you get taken on by Moran, and this does happen as most of the people I worked with went temp - perm.

The work when I was there was mainly milk from Wrexham down to Avonmouth, and cheese from Oswestry to Hatfield, there was some store deliveries but they used to have regular drivers (they were welcome to it :grimacing: )

Cheers thanks for the help

I saw one of their motors a couple of weeks ago (I think ?) smashed up big style, looked like it had run up the back end of an artic which was on the hard shoulder.
Didn’t look good as there was nothing left of the cab.

Ouch probably why they need new drivers

moran logistics is owned by harry moran, he was an agency but had to establish a legit company in order to bid on contracts. he’s well in with arla and arla have bankrolled this outfit so it can get rid of all store work an rdc’s, arla want to keep the dairy side only so many of the arla drivers have moved to moran. his agency is known as A.R.M in leicester an use a 2nd tier agency called ace in leeds. just wait an watch what’s happening in the coming weeks as arla are ready to carry out the 2nd phase of passing the work over to morans…

the last time i saw something like this they were called inovate an look where they are now

Only seen the trucks out on delivery, but as they are on food stuffs dont look to hygienic tome :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

They are in the local paper advertising an O licence application to use Arla,Lockerbie as an operating centre for 20 lorries and 20 trailers

Really?

I’ve done work there, and as far as I know, Arla haven’t bankrolled him at all.

And as for Arla keeping the dairy work, you need to be more precise with your ‘facts’, as I have done many a milk run under the Morans banner, and I have 2 friends that work there on the milk.

Harry plays golf with some big wig in Arla and they actually did fund 12mths for Moran to set up - I was told this by someone high up in Moran’s when I worked there (on agency).

I’ve also done a lot of milk runs for Moran, I think by the dairy work, he means the farms.

Arla have those new trailers with the tanker in the bottom and the loading deck in the top, so it’ll be farm - dairy - rdc - yard for them I think.

ken, i can’t nor can i or will i say who i am “coward”, other than just watch how much work or in “visual terms” how many moran units are pulling arla trailer’s in the coming weeks…oh the drama :stuck_out_tongue:

I work out of oswestry. Job is easy. Yes some stores to be done with milk. But most runs are oswestry to rdc and back. Most days there is no back load.

SHYTOT:
Where did Moran Logistics appear from is it someone that has rebranded or someone that has been taken over by someone else??

I think it was the unit that was taken over by the trailer last week.

Driver just told me Morans drivers are on £700 per week at the leeds depot dont know if it’s true

Depending on shifts and hours, there’s no reason why that’s not true.

I don’t know what they pay full time since I left, but on the agency it was £10.25 / hr, so do a couple of long shifts and some nights out and 700 quid is easily achievable. I used to take not far off that in the bank and I only really did 4 days + run back in on the 5th day, 4 nights out. I did max out the hours on the 4 days mind - but I used to get at least 1 day of over 3hrs at PCL so split daily rest - kerching :grimacing:

If the agency I was with didn’t mess my money around, I’d probably still be there.
