Great models. Here is my latest creation, KFS resin cab, chopped Revell body and scratchbuilt crane.
Neil.

Hey! enough now. Some of these so-called model trucks are getting to be virtually indistinguishable from the real thing.Scary!I was going great guns with a Scania a few years ago, then realised I’d put the side/indicator lights on upside down, and got quite demoralised. This thread has re awakened my interest.I may have a go in the New Year.I’ll have to read all of this to find out where to get kits/bits.Thank you all

Sir+.Go for it. 900X20.

Pete if you had the real version of the split screen van it would be worth a wee fortune. Eddie.

I’ve been reading this thread with interest, and am seriously impressed with some of the work on show. I’ve not built anything for years (and even then it was Airfix, all glue and plastic everywhere), but am getting a serious twitch to build something. I’ve got a germ of an idea of building a model of my Grandads old Scania, a 6x2 tag P112 (B63 OAJ) in Mooney and Morley livery. I should have enough reference photos, the only P-cabbed 112 model I can find is a rather nifty metal kit in 1/50, which will need some mods to replicate the unusual tag axle arrangement the real thing had, but is the closest start point I can find.

Can anyone steer me in the right direction for good kit suppliers, models and tools?

Type A.G.Moorhouse into Google and have a search in UK Prices on the left, this might be what your looking for, you can email the guy to ask any questions. Hope this helps.

That’s the one I found, a tidy model indeed, just about perfect for a little project.

Lots of effort going into that stretch-impressive!

just finished building a simple diorama to fit the merc on, quick visit to B&Q and my local hobby shop total cost was £13.50

A question!

I haven’t built any models for well over 15 years, which was an Italeri FH12 Globetrotter, and I still have several unmade kits in the basement which I will never get round to making, unsteady hands and eyesight being the main reason.

I have however just bought a 1/50 WSI Mercedes Actros Megaspace with a curtain side trailer, and I am thinking about stripping it apart to repaint it in the colours of the one I drive for real.
So,how easy is it to take the thing apart? Is it just a matter of taking out the screws underneath or are parts of it rivetted which will need drilling out and refixing? Does the glazing remove easily(without breaking).
There must be a way of doing it without doing any damage as there are loads of code 3 models about.

Your comments welcome.
