Telling me that the A1 is closed is very useful, I can switch to the A19 and avoid the panic. However telling me it is closed at some obscure A road that goes to Masham and even if I do get my uk roadmap out and illegally have a quick read on the steering wheel I can barely make it out the road is that small does not help.
Please make the signs relevant and up to date and use commonly known markers as the reference to a closed road.
My main solution is to allow the HATO officers full control of the signs. If those guys could report incorrect signs or even turn them off themselves it would be much better

As a rule, we do tend to question daft signals, and if they’re irrelevant, we’ll endeavour to get them cancelled. As I’ve previously stated, the NTCC set the long range signals. I’ve radioed our control room and had them contact the NTCC to display messages if my incident is going to impact elsewhere on the network.

Well here’s a good one. For those of you that know the Dartford tunnels. Right bore is higher than the left bore, so double deckers and other trucks of the same sort of height use that one. Well at night they sometimes close the one on the right, either because they are cleaning it, or it’s being used by southbound traffic because the bridge is closed. One night, coming up the M3, heading for Thurrock, no messages on the Matrix (M3 or M25) until I get to jnct4 (Bromley) of the M25, which said QUOTE " Height restriction Dartford Crossing Northbound" Well thanks for letting me know in time you idiots so that I could go the other way
As I came up the M23 earlier there were two gantrys displaying information about a height restriction through the Dartford Tunnel, so perhaps someone is taking notice.
In relation to the “Queue” notifications at roadworks during the night. As each of the lanes have sensors to detect stationary traffic which can automatically activate these signals, I’m rather suspicious as to whether the ‘road gang’ deliberately park a vehicle on the sensor in order to activate the warning.

Quite possibly Krankee but then the sensors you refer to (MIDAS) should be disabled in these circs
An RCC bod can prob explain why this does always happen
Usually when we report them they disappear so it is not all about the technology
