HIya Cliff
Some really good pics and brings back very good memories. It must be at least 35 years since I left MAT.
A mate of mines son drives for an agency. He had a Volvo 440 with auto select; let me look round the cab. I told him I had driven better, The Old Atkinson SYL212C. ? MATs Scanias and Scammel Crusaders were luxury and well maintained. Do you remember we had a few Salford van hires, the Bedford TMs and Volvo 88 and 89? Retired 6 years ago and have to get back to doing the hovering as my wife’s due home. Kev
Carlc:
Just a few pictues of some of the motors I drove for MAT out of Manchster MIFT. Great days, great people. I have loads of pictures from my MAT days.

Hullo Harry,
I think I may have mentioned it before on here, Cliff Leader went to Trans Flash McGreggor in Bradford when he left MAT. I don’t know what he’s doing these days, but I was talking to Dave Clarks’ wife on Facebook a few weeks ago, she told me they see him quite often, so he is still around.
p.s. A MAT reunion would be a good idea, does anybody else think so ? I wonder.
Cheers, Archie.

Hey up Kev
I do remember the TM bedfords they would not pull a greasy stick out of a cows arse. I have 20 months to go before I retire. I keep going to steam rallys and vintage car and truck meetings, I am thinking of buying an old truck to take round the shows, it will give me something to do. It would be great to drop on an old 110 to paint in MATs livery. Look after yourself mate Cliff

Hi Archie
I would love to come to a reunion before we all smell of old spice and ■■■■. You organise it and I will help round up the old timers.

Hullo Carl,
That sounds OK. It will have to be a bit later though as I am off in five weeks time to Brasil. I shall be back either very late April or early in May 2011. The weather is better then for travel, everybody is happy when it gets warmer, and it gives enough time to figure out a siutable venue. Probably down in the Hull area, as that’s the place we all used to meet anyway, that was where everybody hasd to go for vehicle servicing, ( and quite a bit of the other servicing too if my mind serves me right ) Do keep in touch, as it sounds good.
Cheers, Archie.
