Massive Sat Nav Price Glitch!

My one is in Yodels Leeds depot :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Chris1207:
The good news, it’s been despatched… the bad news, the carrier is Yodel  It’ll either arrive in time for Christmas, never arrive (ever), or arrive in 42 million bits!

The smart ones amongst us selected Click & Collect.

Even if you know you’re going to be in… click n collect

Despatched from leeds depot :sunglasses:

So now it’s got to make it to your local depot, then get slung onto a Sprinter van.

No wonder they reckon it’ll take 72 hours.

I wouldn’t mind, but I only want to check it works, unless it’s the knees of the bees, it’ll be going back in it’s box until my snooper gives up the ghost.

I’m in a similar position. I have a garmin DEZL 770 with lifetime maps and traffic that I’ve had for 18 month now but I’m not right keen on it. It does the job but not very elegantly and is just buggy in general.

I’ll believe you Paul, and of course you don’t want to emulate our European cousins and try to make your cab look like NASA control!
You know you’re going to play compare, just admit it to yourself…

Plus the live traffic is the best bit, it’s all I use my for at present.

My dash is a bit like that Beez, phone lives up there, as does my wifi dongle, certainly not having 2 satnavs on the go.

I use Google maps for traffic stuff, now and again if it’s getting a bit too close to call, but in all fairness it will think you’re in a car, so might try and save you 10 minutes by driving five miles through housing estates.

Fortunately I was born with a tad of common sense.

I’m off for a week now, so might give them a bit of a whirl in the car.

I am Very surprised they are honouring the sales as usually as soon as they find an error out they use O&E as a get out clause and just refund people.

So good on you all if you get them.

I bought the DEZL 770 too, couldn’t justify the price of the tomtom with lifetime services. I used to use a tomtom go 6000 (the car one) for out of town stuff when I was taxi driving and I though it was brilliant, particularly the live traffic. The traffic on the DEZL is atrocious though, even regularly telling me roads are closed when they are not and trying to route me a ridiculous long way round. Other times it takes me straight into huge jams that it appears to know nothing about, switch the radio on and find out it been blocked due to an accident hours ago. So why the hell doesn’t the DEZL know? (At over £300 it should) If the tomtom is anywhere near as good as the one I had before I’ll be very happy as it regularly blew my mind as to how accurate the traffic was.

Not that I actually use satnavs … I am professional and don’t need them
But the other day a workmate of mine (Longwayround on this site) showed me an app that displays all scales and inspection sites across the country. After downloading it I discovered it includes a FREE truck sat nav, by the way, the app was also free. I don’t know if it is available over there ? It’s called ‘Truck path’

Actually they are giving me 40 quid for this sat nav as they never charged me with all the delay stuff I think they pre authorised the money then returned it to me and then never took back. Maybe too late now to charge me. VERY happy
