Maritime Transport Sub Contractor deal

Well said that man, there are so many saying its not worth it then why are they?
I am sure that if you went to Martime or who ever and they said its £1.15pm and you said no I can’t do it for that I run on say £1.25 or some thing you get it, they need subies more than you think!

Anyone else noticed Ralphy Davies pulling maritime skellys lately, you can bet you arse, he’s not running round for £1.30 per mile!

seen his motors pulling the Maritime curtainsiders too :open_mouth:

no chance, maritime are a rip off, you cant run on that

Yep if it was that good they wouldnt be selling the truck // work would they■■?

Exactly!

Harry Monk:
Containers and ferry trailers are generally considered to be the lowest-paid sub-contracting, you could look for something that paid a bit more than that though. When you say you are thinking of putting a truck on the road, how realistic is that idea?

you can make decent money on ferry trailers if you use your head !!! even containers as well… containers aint no good doing distance that for sure tho… but nothing is on distance work really

A 56 plate Daf that can’t even go into London and he wants £33,500 as the buy it now price.

The seller is obviously having some type of mental breakdown.

Adblue tank and rounded mirrors would suggest it’s euro 4 at least

Full LEZ Compliant Euro 5

Of course, one of the late 56 plates. My bad. Still not worth anywhere near £33,500 though.

My guess would be the truck and the Montracon trailer listed also are both priced at what’s needed to settle the finance.

Went to look at a 2003 Don Bur curtainside last week. Heard about it through a mate of a mate. To be fair it had been refurbed when the guy bought it but even that didn’t justify the £10k minimum he could accept because that’s what the finance was. :unamused:

saw the the daf sellers trailer, 6 weeks old!, what was he thinking having his name all the way down the sides of the
trailer?
i see he also has work that pays 10k per month, what he fails to say is the 7k it will cost in fuel to earn !

Nowhere near that. D G Taylor at Cranswick have loads of Daf 105’s in at the moment and they’re advertising 2008 105.460’s at £19,950 and they would no doubt drop that by at least a grand for cash. In fact they have a 2009/59 plate advertised for £33k with far less mileage on than that 56 plate example.

Edited to add: I see VAT is included in that £33.5k, so he’s actually asking just under 28k+VAT. Still WAY too much though.

Indeed, earnings figures by themselves mean nothing. On the bulk job I do £10k would be a crap month. £10k a month would only be any good to me if I could do it using under about 800 litres of diesel a week.

shocked at 03 trailer for 10k. i bought a 02 krone euroliner with new curtains and went straight through the test for £2400 took my work out of it and sold it on for 4k.
