M62 Closed both ways Junction 21 to 22

Claretmac:
Would the Trucknet CSI team explain what may have been the cause for this!?

Manchester Evening news reports…
'The lorry was carrying a load of 44 tonnes of butter

Could this be the cause of the blow out? :open_mouth:

On a more serious note, I hope the driver is ok, and there were was talk of it being a fatal

What’s with the mass of fuel spillages nowadays, i swear years ago they weren’t as commonplace. Is it due to a lot tanks being made of ally now to save weight and rupture easier?

Probably would have been prevented by a concrete barrier.

Makes me feel a bit better about all the roadworks.

They were as commonplace, its just nobody cared as much about people driving over spilled diesel.

Hiya i would think the center reservation posts would rip the tank wide open…as said ally is thin
saying that steel tanks are much thinner nowadays…lorries seem to carry more fuel that years ago
you see old lorries with 20 gallon tanks…my Volvo had 500 liters and you see bigger than that.
any news on the driver…it looks like a van run into the crashed lorry that driver must be not so good.
i just hope they both make it …

Is that a big Scania? Irish plates? A firm beginning with ‘W’ are regularly parked up in laybys near Arla in Leeds, often on Saturdays. When I drive past I usually think ‘poor …what a way to spend the weekend’.

It certainly looks like one now you mention it.
Seem to all park in leeds on a weekend.
Awful to see that what a mess

Not quite sure but if that’s the front offside steer tyre in the picture would it look that good after a blow out

I see about 3 of them parked in that side road just around the corner from Stourton container terminal every time I pick one of our trailers up from Allied glass there when I run Sunday’s. They must park there every weekend.

Let’s hope the driver was wearing his seatbelt too because if not he would have fallen into the passenger side and took the full force of being hit and probably ripped to shreds from the central res by the looks of it.

They got a contract around there or just loads of lads from Leeds work for them?

They’ve got a contract with Kerry foods . It’s a regular run from Ireland to arla ,there’s always a gang of em parked up down by tetleys old brewery

Unlike the NR Evans driver last week on the A50 who was thrown through the windscreen while not wearing a seat belt then to be crushed by his own lorry as it toppled over.

I had 3 nails on a week one blow out one puncture .nearly wiped out 3 lanes .shouldn’t be hawking for work was the competitors message .do they ever think of the consequences of mucking about

Came past the scene today, and noticed that it was at the bottom of Windy Hill.

Not suggesting anything BUT?
