box jockey

not my photo by the way

lets hope it wasn’t the ‘box jockey’ that got burnt alive then, you might end up regretting saying it but will almost certainly never be allowed to forget it on here. Either way, what a [zb] way to go and ‘hopefully’ died on impact

Well the pictures from the news article so why would I regret anything. I’m not implying anything…

Apologies then…it seemed (to me) that you were implying that it was typical of a ‘box jockey’ to be tailgating etc etc and this was the resulting incident.

Have just read on the local news that it was the lorry driver that died. Apparantly he couldn’t get the cab door open. And it was a car under the lorry that started the fire.

Seems to be conflicting media reports on this accident,do you have a link as I have read something completely different

The Daily Echo understands the driver of the lorry somehow miraculously escaped and the victim was travelling in one of several other vehicles caught up in the accident.

Yesterday morning I was in my garden at 7.40am having a coffee and a ■■■, saw this lorry driving down for the Motorway, little did I know iD see it pictures on the net just over 2 hrs later on fire…Lets just say our thoughts go out to the person who as lost their life in tragic circumstances

Turns out it isn’t the Maritime driver tinyurl.com/ocbc9qo

“Miraculously escaped” is a bit strong, the lorry barely damaged (save the fire which spread from the car.) Must’ve been quite an impact for the car to ignite and nobody able to pull the driver out.

See the old bill are asking for ppl who might have dash cam footage to get in touch… so it has to be questioned are they of any use … whilst I don’t believe in ppl publicly showing them on youtube to degrade someone… these things could fill in the missing gaps…

Looking at the photo on the echo website it looks like the daf has rear lift axle, could it be a subbie/owner driver? RIP the car driver and condolences to those affected

For me the worst stretch of road in England for driving standards. From the M3 to Portsmouth something memorable happens (not for good reasons!) every time!

It was not the Maritime driver who succumbed to the accident
