What you said made a lot of sense, I too have a record as long and proud as yours, but -
It was insensitive to say what you did and when you did. You don’t yet know all the facts.
And even if you did know them, there is at least one on here that knows the bloke, I wouldn’t want you talking about a mate of mine like that.
I didn’t like the ott comments made about you here, but you did bring it on yourself mate, I know you are a plain speaking bloke and blunt with it.

I stand by what I said, there are such things as pure accidents, things you cannot possibly predict, if we could predict them they would not happen.

Truckyboy has been very very lucky that He’s never had a bang in 43 years, but to post like he did shows huge ego and great arrogance.

Perhaps if you cant make a decent comment, make none, should be his motto.

Being advised by my Ex Traffic Officer pals… upon inspection of his tacho he was doing 56 mph … also has everyone forgot he crossed over on to the A Carriage way killing a motorcyclist!

By sounds of this he fell asleep probs being run ragged by the company all to take home 30 bob after costs.

Prays to the deceased families.

sorry if I did not get the joke wheel nut but there are drivers out there who cant seem to plan ahead and blame slower vehicles for their misfortunes. I,ve had more than one driver shaking the imaginary coffee jar at me for doing 50mph on a dual carraigeway!

Discoman,im not sure your talking about the same incident.There was only one vehicle involved,the TNT newsfast lorry,and it was not a crossover.As far as i know,the lorry was travelling Northbound,which is the A c/way and only the TNT driver was killed.I heard all this unfolding on our radios,but i stand to be corrected if wrong.

maybe its time the powers that be look at the night work opt out , 10 hrs is enough for anyone , 15 hrs shifts , starting 1/2 in the morn and finishing 16.00/17.00 on a afternoon is just a recipe for disaster .
at least the road workers help us by leaving dirty great pot holes as at times is the only thing that keeps us awake .

You cannot possibly say that it will never happen to you. I have much less experience than you but have a ‘perfect’ record by your standards. However, I would never claim to be infallable and I know from bitter experience that it CAN happen to you and it DOESN’T have to be your fault (see 'Diary with a Difference I posted a few weeks ago.) I would have thought 43 years on the road would have taught you that things are not ALWAYS black and white. :confused:
