low loader

Have you chains and bangers to secure it and the other vehicle. ?

Pmsl kev. Mugabe will have his hands off if he’s 4.1m lol

I was wondering when the insults will start, well keep em coming, i can handle it  …Paul Lambert, im ashamed at you, i gave you blood sweat and tears, and a few more cassettes as well  i will let you all know how it goes, might take some pics, or make a diary, but i will be on that boat on Thursday, , and may well be in Geiselwind for Saturday, but my plan is to get across Austria, and into Serbia, gotta check for the driving bans if there are any. I am strapping them down with wheel straps, and bits of string, if i can find some, i feel that a double or triple dolly wouldnt go amiss either, was gonna use 2 sheets and a fly on top, but im not into lifting that high, but so long as i can lift my right arm, i`ve cracked it

Seeing as hes gonna buy me a ticket back to blighty, i may take advantage and take a bus to my place in the south, but then again, i have some relatives in Sofia, so may cadge a bed with her, i mean them, i mean him, oh Fluck it, im gonna sleep on my own, and test out the Rakia.

If you’ve only been given 2 grand you will want some more for fuel and wages for you.

Suppose wedge a bit if railway sleeper under the wheels be grand.

You won’t achieve your desired height by removing the wheels. Even when they’re underlifted the front wheels have to be removed sometimes. Also, will the unit not have to be reversed on first and then the rigid? Thus the rear end of the unit will be up on the neck saving even more height issues. Our low loader has a 3 foot bed so anything over 13 foot is a no. 13’1 is 4 metres, leaves you nearly 3 foot to loose, thats gonna take some doing.

Never fear i’ve sorted it get the man XXL hook up the low lowder stick the 7.5 ton rigid on the back. Head to Droitwich on the way down
Buy and collect this http://www.rogerdyson.com/used_vehicles/heavy/daf_95_xf

Problem sorted

on a serious note I don’t see how you can make up that size gap with out a lower trailer

He needs to lose a tad over 25’’ (641mm) from the XXL as it stands with its wheels on to hit 4m. I would be surprised if he could lose 25’’ from it with the wheels off.

By reversing the drive axle of the unit up the neck will only make the cab even higher ,the only way to keep it low is to have the steering axle of the unit on the beaver tail .

M1cks thats a good bit of news with the air kit, i know some dont have an air kit, just a high roof, and my working is is if the deck height of the trailer is 870 mm, and the unit is 4M ( thats only what ive been told, so dont know how accurate that is ) with the wheels on, then maybe, if it has an air kit, maybe all i have to do is take it off, failing that i am trying to arrange some railway sleepers to drop it onto. and call out a tyre company to take the wheels off, just trying to locate 8 sleepers, as im picking up the trailer from Derby, hopefully i`ll have some luck there.

Overall cab height:

  • Without air management 3,771 mm
  • With air management in low position 3,911 mm
  • With air management in high position 4,111 mm

According to MAN’s website

truckyboy:
Final destination is Bulgaria…I think that a permit will have to applied for, way in advance, and dont think it can be bought on the border. Germany is the real problem, in fact any country with a bridge limit of over 4M.
Thanks for those measurements, it looks like it is not going to be ,lowered to a sufficient height, even with the wheels off, but we will have a close look tomorrow.
Rikki, i dont know what trailer it is, but was given the deck height, and it has enough room for a unit and a 7.5 tonner rigid behind that, I dont even know if it supposed to have flashing lights or not, in fact its beginning to be a nightmare, but the alternative is to go with a tautliner, and get 2 other drivers, that scenario was put to me the other day, and i thought a low loader could save him some money on fuel and wages.

I’m available to run in convoy
