Lorry watch schemes

Ah well !" :sunglasses:
It looks like I aint the only lowlife ‘‘poor and broke’’ council house scum on here after all then. :open_mouth:

People will take free money when offered even if it came from their neighbor’s paycheck :open_mouth:

Maybe that’s one of the reasons why you can afford to work 40 hours per week where other can’t :bulb:

There was a guy above claiming to be a train driver and living in a council house. Well buddy, news flash - your union boss lives in one as well and he makes 6 figures. Oh look, rich people are stealing taxes, we should, too!

And don’t give me that ■■■■■■■■ about councils renting at market prices - they’re NOT, else there wouldn’t be a hundred plus people lining up so snap a piece. As a single person with income (from a job) and some savings I have 0 chance (or desire, for that matter) to get into one of those if for no other reason than half of my neighbors will be freeloaders who think they’re smug and the other half will be knocking on my door 15 times a day asking for change/■■■■.

Look son, …I’ve got no desire nor need to justify anything that I do, or have done in my life, whether it be work related, general lifestyle or otherwise, to the likes of you.

I merely tried to point out to you previously that maybe some of your views were misguided, and a bit naive, but if you choose to react to that, by being all ■■■■■ about it,… then so be it, that is your prerogative,.and it has zero effect on me, I’ve heard all the putdowns and insults on this subject by far more cleverer blokes than you my friend over the years.

When you have had a bit more life experience away from your ‘‘single person with income and savings’’ then maybe,… just maybe, I’ll conversationally swap experiences with you, and then we will be maybe on some kind of level playing field unlike as we are now :bulb:
Have a good day.

Thanks, dad. Don’t forget to lock the door twice if you’re going out.

Love the way out of the 3 responses to your views, one poster calls you ‘‘An ignorant ■■■■’’ another one seconds and agrees with it,.I try and offer you a civil and polite explanation against your ignorant viewpoint, yet you single me out for the (attempted unsucessful) offensive retort.  :
Unbelievable. :unamused:

I could never be your Dad btw, all my kids were brought up with good manners, and social etiquette.

Ugh, sorry but yours was the only post which actually contained anything meaningful to respond to  Not much to say to someone who logs in just to call me a ■■■■, and I did respond to the train guy and part of my post covered the truck driver, too…

You’re so easily offended :unamused:

Naturally like everything in life there will be exceptions.

My understanding of council housing is it’s meant to be a form of social housing (discounted, subsidized) which working, healthy people should normally have no need for but if they do, then I pity this country and if they don’t genuinely need it but still make use of it, well that’s their right but it’s my right to draw general conclusions about their character even if I may be wrong from time to time

Really? That’s your perception?

I was brought up in a council house, my parents are still there. And I can spell ‘neighbour’ the correct non-American way - odd because your perception dictates I should have been out robbing stuff instead? Or I’m perhaps thicker than you? Or of a lower level than yourself?

What I do know in life is that freeloaders exist everywhere - not exclusively on council estates. Privately renting tenants can still get their rent paid by the council, even home owners can get interest on their mortgages paid for via benefits. But they’re ok I guess?

Can I just stress to you bud, I AINT offended, you aint clever enough to offend me.
I’m just amused and amazed by your naive opinions backed up by your evident lack of intelligence and life experience…that is all. :bulb:
Hope that clears up the misunderstanding.

No, it’s an exaggeration.

I wouldn’t say so

Eh, I never said they’re ok. But council housing is still subsidised (correct enough for you?) so complaining when you get the thicker end when a choice has to be made about a road diversion is a bit over the top which was my entire point in the first place.

Ouch, now I’m offended

One of the worse things we ever did as a country was to flog off the council housing stock, however had i been lucky enough to be a tenant at the time in a decent, preferably rural, setting, i admit i’d have ripped Thatcher’s arm off too, even knowing full well just how cynical that move of hers was, but overall it didn’t do our country any good.

Of course this is old news now because through deliberate mass immigration, lauded and instigated by those who wouldn’t know where to find a bloody council house :unamused: , our housing situation along with essential services and infrastructure is already at breaking point…and just wait till the UN start acting on the global compact for migration which our leaders signed quietly last year :open_mouth: starts taking effect…any ideas what the UN thinks our manageable population level should be :bulb: , look it up and weep.

Everyone has their own story, maybe when detractors of those in council properties have been kicked in the ■■■■■■■■ enough by life foul play or foul former husbands/wives, they’ll realise sometimes we can only play with the deck of cards we hold in our sweaty hands, walking a mile in the other blokes shoes would do some people some good.
Be grateful if you haven’t been kicked in the ■■■■■■■■, think on it could be your turn next.

I too was born into a council house, which we left when i was 5 years old and we lived in tied cottages until i left at home aged 16, my father and mother bought their first and only owned home of their own upon his retirement when they cashed in investments of many years growth, my father never missed work for even one day and carried on part time till he was mid 70’s, my mother went potato picking during the season to earn some money until she resumed with my father re. the tied cottage scene.

I never lived in rented accommodation as such, lived in seedy B&B’s as a young working bloke along with the old soaks and various other types, and lived back with me mum and dad for a years or two after i’d grown up and bit and realised i had been a ■■■ (wish i could turn back that clock), eventually bought my own first home by mortage at age 20, luckily i had an instilled serious work ethic from my family, which too comes with its issues cos for many years i worked simply too bloody hard, becoming exactly what i try to warn others here about, part of the machine, had i not stopped when my wife told me ( a woman far too good for me) who had seen where i was headed i doubt i’d be here now.

Was i any better than those old lads in the seedy B&B’s, no i bloody wasn’t, two of those lads were well into their late 50’s in the early 1970’s where the local foundry where they’d worked years had closed down, in those days you really could be on the scrap heap at 50, i don’t begrudge those lads one penny of their benefits.

Just the luck of the draw and those cards you’ve been dealt.

to be honest ets I could have responded with informed info like rob and toonsy but I think my post describes you very well, and the more you respond I feel I was totally right…
