Punchy Dan:
012thatll stop her from knagging to do the gardening ! Use a fork lift and a track machine then leave the mess !
I’m off for a couple of days ,got some wood to collect tomorrow get the range rover and trl out.
Then a lot of sitting down in the shed fire on .
Leave the gardening for her indoors.
Back on the road, boss came out with fitter filled her up with water and I just got it back to our yard. No sign of damage or leaking hoses this morning but on tilting the cab and pressure washing the radiator, a lot of gunge washed out. Probably hardened on quarry dust and wheelwash residue. The fluid levels were fine yesterday morning and the lorry behaved today (I drove the 8w today, my normal ride).
I get annoyed with things like that, no faults found, makes it look like I didn’t check the old girl, which I do religiously given its age.
I’ve let my 4 year old son play with some of my old Brittains’ toys today. Daddy was asked to turn the Fyson farm elevator into a soil screener. A pair of scissors and an old Knorr stockpot box and we had a feed hopper.

You can tell the loading shovel was mine, the company name on the side says “Redland” not “Lafarge Tarmac” “Breedon” or “Hope.”
Ayup Dan parted with £24 quid this morning filled my trl up.
Too much like hard work them chainsaws.
Bacon eggs tea and feet up in the shed.
Lovely.

Next project, turn a margarine tub into a crusher. I think a ruler as a conveyor belt and yoghurt pot as the feed hopper.
He’s also asked if I can make “one of those gravel washers that wash muck and bricks.” Bog roll tube for the log washer, the top of a lemonade bottle upturned will pass for the sand cyclone, his “screener” can feed it, some hacked up fruit punnets will do for the shingle screens…It’s the silt press that’s bothering me.
If I can do that after raiding the recycling bin I think I’ll email my CV to Terex.
Bullnose
Cracking bit of restoration going on .

New type of screener on trial at Smiths Ardley Quarry.

Note the wisps of steam coming from the front…
Sudden loss of power climbing a hill this afternoon, black smoke from the exhaust then lots of steam pouring from the bottom part of the grille.
Why are the lights on ?
It was ■■■■■■■ down with rain and getting dark.
