I think you’d struggle to get a tipper classed as plant though.

There are two plates on your motor, the Manufacturers Plate with the design weights on and the Ministry Plate with the legal weights for the UK on it. No good going off the Manufacturers plate, the design weight will always be more than the UK allows.

the overall length of a single rigid vehicle shall not exceed the maximum length specified below:-

Motor vehicles:-
wheeled motor vehicles other than buses - 12 metres
a bus with two axles - 13.5 metres
a bus with more than 2 axles - 15 metres (from 1/4/2003)
tracked motor vehicles - 9.2 metres

Agreed but the ministry plates still also how the axle limits which collectively add up to more than the max permitted weight.
