Hello Jim
Just interested to see how much these old girls go for
Gentlemen can someone clear this up for me
My HGV is due to expire within the next 18months can i still renew it with out taken the lorry drivers CPC .
Regards Jacko

Rich

I believe you should be able to renew your HGV but will still have to do the CPC by the end of 2014 (i think) if you wish to keep it valid. As I understand it you get the CPC now by grandfather rights but must do it a day per year or all 5 days in one go by september 2014.

I look forward to someone’s clarification if I’m wrong, and on a sad note I must be getting old if your 45 in 18 months!

["][ I’m happy now as I’ve just got back from Redditch, went up to get an original pair of pipes for my bike after one snapped off at the silencer last week. That’ll be a Triumph not one of those american agricultural bikes Mr Maidment likes, not that they know what silencers are?

I like bikes…whatcha got…? seriously looking at the 1050 Sprint !!!

Hi all i think i am right in saying that without doing the Driver cpc which you must have done 35 hours training for by 2014 you can renew your hgv licence but you cant drive without the Driver cpc, so it seems a bit off a waist to renew your licence. You cant get it on grandfather rights not like you could when they brought out the Operator cpc years ago.Just another way of getting money out off someone for trying to earn a living.

You can renew your LGV licence without taking the CPC at any time in the future. But if you want to drive trucks for a living you will have to have the CPC by 2014.

I am wondering whether to take the CPC (but probably will) as I shall be 62 in 2014 and not really bothered about driving trucks at all, however I will still need a LGV in order to drive my RV!!! Incidentally I already have the operator licence CPC but this does not count!!!

Regards Pat

Hi pat you are about the same as me when i do my first cpc in 2014 i will be 60 so hopefully will not need a second one but it does not really afffect me as the firm i work for we do 1 day a year for the rest of the time i work for them. You wont need one for your R V as its not hire and reward.

Hi Kev,

I saw in the “Bartley Bugle” last week that Pat had put a planning application to change the RV into a mobile pole dancing club, and I think that will be Hire & Reward !! I tried for a job on it but he told me I’d have to work a week in hand   :unamused:

Coming up the Col de Bessey on the A6 at 2 am this morning, brought it all back to me, Angie driving and me asleep, nothing changes
See you at the weekend.
