Interesting story of ■■■■ Hampton’s Scania 110 6X4 unit

He wrote my boss ken harvey was telling me the scania VAA740H was bought by rf interport from a daf dealer at waford. him and pete kellett brought it up to leigh were it was fitted with sand tyres driven to felixstowe and shipped to saudi arabia, were it worked for interports depot out there. the connecting prop between the double drive failed and caused alot of damage, the driver got it back and it was topped on flat trailer and brought back to the uk were a double bogie from a guy big j was grafted on to it. they sorted the props out made them fit, and then it had the passenger seat taken out curtains put up and then driven back out to middle east overland were it continued to work. rgds twolamps

Then followed by this SCA (who I believe had a Southampton depot) pic

GAZIOW’s first stop in France, round the back with Laybylil in the brown SAVIEM van, quinze francs!

noticed today that hampshire county council have closed the top end of the a36 layby near calmore and j2. Signs say not suitable to hgv, nice sarnie van has gone as well. Another one bites the dust!
